My review of Shinobi III
My favourite game as a child.
This, this is the game I remember from my youth. Playing as the badass ninja Shinobi, going through levels kicking ass and beating epic bosses. When this game came to the 3DS Eshop, I downloaded it immediately. And wouldn't you know it, it comes with a level select feature! I don't remember much as to the story of this game(most games had little story back in the day), but essentially, you good guy, get bad guy. This game was, and still is, epic. The soundtrack gets your heart pumping and immerses you in the game. The levels are vibrant, challenging and well defined. And the boss fights... Oh the boss fights. I fell in love with this game from the first boss. These boss fights start out epic from the start and remain epic. You even fight a giant robotic Godzilla. What kind of kid in the 90's wouldn't want to fight a giant robotic Godzilla? The controls are responsive, though I've heard complaints as to the reliability of wall jumping. M'eh, never a problem for me. The one issue is the slash versus throwing a ninja star. It seems I can get close to an enemy and the weapon selection(slash vs. throw) is random. Am I doing something wrong here? I dunno. I don't care. This is an amazing Genesis game and I highly suggest you go play it. It's available for the Nintendo Eshop as well as the Sonic Ultimate Collection for PS3/360.
