Mystery Pandas! Farm Frenzy 2 | Free Trial Casual Game Download
I played Farm Frenzy 2 after Farm Frenzy 3 (because I am wild and Tarantino like that way,) and made a few interesting discoveries along the way. For those unaware, Farm Frenzy is a farming simulation game in the loosest sense of the word. I'll let this picture explain it to you:
Clearly Farm Frenzy 2 was designed for the few modern humans unfamiliar with the appearance, sound and function of a chicken.
It also flies in the face of common sense, because in spite of what seems to be a rather American farm, (somewhere in the mid west perhaps,) the main predator you have to watch out for is....
the PANDA BEAR. Maybe that's what's been sending the economy down the toilet. Not rogue lenders giving anyone a home loan, but sneaky ninja panda bears hurling chickens into the Pacific.
Gameplay
Don't let the simple graphics and cutesy animals lull you into a false sense of security however, Farm Frenzy 2 is actually a fairly challenging game. It eases you into the first few levels, but after those, you better pick up the art of click farming quickly, or you'll be watching chickens die from starvation and rogue panda bears hurling them into the wild blue yonder.
It's very easy to pick up the basics of the game, I'd say this is definitely one that could be fun for all the family. Children will enjoy the bright, cartoon graphics and cute musical score and adults will enjoy sitting on the edge of their seats hoping the plodding little truck gets back to the farm with their precious gold so they can afford to grow grass for the animals.
Quibbles
A minor quibble I have to mention is that Farm Frenzy 2 has several typographical errors which seem to indicate a rushed production process. When you're only writing one sentence descriptions, you should probably get them right. Though this is a minor issue, it does reflect the certain lack of polish which is noticeable between Farm Frenzy 2 and Farm Frenzy 3.
Music
Alawar always takes the time to get the music appropriate, and though Andrew Lloyd Weber clearly didn't write it, Farm Frenzy 2 boasts quite a charming musical score nevertheless.
The Final Judgment
All in all, I'd recommend Farm Frenzy 2 to casual gaming fans tired of playing the other very similar clones. It is, above all, a very charming game and adept at relieving the stresses of the day without turning you into a foaming addict.
