Nintendo DS Game Review: Spore Creatures
This game is a little weird but fun. It's not a 3d game, it's 2d. There is no rounded edges in the graphics. It's like drawing on paper and only seeing two sides of it if you know what I mean? When I first got this game, I didn't know if I wanted to play it or not because of the graphics. Once I started playing the game, I realized it is fun. I guess I am used to playing games that look more realistic instead of something that looks drawn on a piece of paper.
At the beginning of the game, it gives you a creature to play as so you can get used to it. It teaches you how to eat, dig, and fight. Once you collect enough body parts than you can go into creation mode to add parts to your creature. Each parts mean something. Some parts help with defense while other help you swim in shallow waters. You also get to choose the color which is really cool. The body parts are funny looking as well, so it would be a fun game for children as well. Maybe this game was actually made for children? I don't know but I kind of like playing it.
The objective of the game is to complete missions with your creature. Depending on what you have to do, you have to change your body parts accordingly. I believe having a story line to follow is easier and it gives you something to do. There are other creatures running around as well and you can interact with them. Its crazy how many creatures you can create in this game. It will let a child's imagination run wild.
To compare to other games, I do not like the fact that it is 2d not 3d. If they would change that, I believe the game would be more exciting and fun to play. The story line is fun and it defiantly gives you something to do while playing the game. Since it gives you the option to create a character, it make it even more fun to play. This game would be great for ages 5 and up. It would keep your child busy and will keep their imagination running wild.
Have you played this game yet?
