Plant Tycoon (Game Review)

Updated on June 12, 2013

Have you ever wanted to own your own garden nursery? Have you dreamed of creating your own breed of flowers and selling your creations to the world? Plant Tycoon is an interesting simulation game in which you can do just that. This addictive Sim game will have you playing for hours trying to unlock the secrets of the 6 legendary flowers of Isola.

Plant Tycoon is a cross between a Tycoon game and a Simulation game. You can grow flowers, cross pollinate plant breeds, and develop new flowers for your shop to sell. The game boasts over 500 unique plants you can create. The ultimate goal is to unlock the secret of the 6 legendary flowers of Isola. These magical flowers give you special powers which will greatly benefit your nursery and make you the ultimate Plant Tycoon.

Plant Tycoon is a very addictive game, but it takes a lot of patience. The game requires you to wait for your plants to grow to a certain maturity level before they can be placed in the nursery to be sold. The wait time can be increased or decreased, so you can do other things as you wait for your plants to reach maturity level, but it is not the kind of game that offers constant action. There is a chemical fertilizer which can be purchased once you start making money which will speed the game up significantly, but in the beginning you must be prepared to wait.

Despite the wait time, Plant Tycoon offers the interesting puzzle of discovering the 6 legendary flowers of Isola. This puzzle is tricky because there are over 500 plant species which can be created through cross breeding of plants. Every time you discover a new plant species it takes you one step further to the ultimate goal, which gives you the reward you need to keep pushing further along the game. There are a number of strategies you can use to discover the six legendary flowers, which gives you the added benefit of playing in your own style.

Overall, Plant Tycoon is a highly addictive game that is unlike any game you will play online. The business simulation along with the puzzle solving combines to make a unique game which is sure to keep you occupied for hours. Patience is a definite requirement for enjoying this game so if you are an action gamer this may not be the game for you, but if you enjoy other simulation games such as Sim City, or Virtual Villagers, Plant Tycoon is right up your alley.

Have you discovered the six legendary flowers of Isola?

I really liked Roller Coaster Tycoon the older one. It has about the same idea but with theme parks. This game sounds fun to.
