Play Station 4 Console: The Complete Review

Updated on March 19, 2017

Sony PlayStation 4 Sound

The sound on the PlayStation 4 is very crisp and clear. What do you expect from Sony who has been making radios and speakers for over 60 years? Of course, using surround sound and quality speakers will make all the difference in the world.

Grade: I give the sound a 10 out of 10 just as I did with the PlayStation 3. Sony always has great sounds and they never miss a beat during the games.

Play Station 4 Graphics and Color

The Play Station 4 comes bundled with a HDMI cable which really helps the colors look spectacular. Backgrounds really look stupendous on the PlayStation 4, especially on war and, crime games. It's hard to beat Sony when it comes to graphics.

The GPU that is inside the Play Station 4 makes the graphics roughly twice as good as the graphics on the Play Station 3. The color schemes are amazing and the graphics are superior to anything seen before or since. The graphics on the Play Station 4, are around double the capacity of the Play Station 3, which is saying a great deal. The games give great detail especially far away background scenes.

Grade: I rate the graphics a 9.5 out of 10 as they far surpass any technology ever produced inside a video game console. Some games such as Soccer and a few of the war games seem so realistic that it's hard to believe you're eyes. It renders 3-D backgrounds like never before and some games support 3-D televisions.

Play Station 4 Gaming System

The Play Station 4 has supreme sound and graphics. The game play is second to none in the video gaming industry. It is internet connected and it stores music and movies as well.

Play Station 4 Controller Review

There are a few new features for the Play Station 4 controller

1. Touch Pad: The touch pad located on the front of the controller is an all new technology. It does not hinder game play but, rather enhances it.

2. Share Button: Stream live game play on Ustream and also record and post game play on Facebook. An awesome new addition for online surfers that will no doubt be a big deal.

3. Light Bar: Three LEDS light up which helps in many ways especially to give you signals during game play. A great addition and add on.

4. Built-In Stereo Headset Jack: Use the headset to chat with online game players or you can use it from your Play Station 4 or the actual controller to hear Hi-Fidelity sound.

Grade: I give the controller a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. The reason is the controller is light, smooth and very easy to use. The features such as the touch pad and the head phone jacks are very nice additions indeed.

Camera on The Playstation 4

The Playstation camera has a 1280x 800 Pixel sensor. This sensor is able to capture video at 60 frames per second. Basically, the camera has virtually no blur and watching playback is liking watching it live and in person.

With the camera you can upload and stream games your playing to Ustream. Also, You can upload recorded gameplay to your Facebook account.

Grade: I give the camera an 8 out of 10 for two reasons. One is because it does not come with the PS4 and number two is because it doesn't really do that much.

PlayStation 4 Controller

The Sony P.layStation 4 controller has several new features that are not available on the PlayStation 3 controller, included a blue light on the end of the controller that lights up when it's turned on.

Play Station 4 Game Play

The game play is very similar to that on the Play Station 3 except, even smoother because, the new controller works so much better, than the one on the other systems. All the games so far, have moved and played with perfect fluidity. If you liked the Play Station 3 then the Play Station 4, will blow you away without a doubt.

Grade: I rate the game play a 9 out of 10. The systems ease of use and game play are hard to argue with. If your a fan of the Play Station 3 then, you are in for a treat, as the Play Station 4 is even more smooth.

1. Standby Mode: In this mode, you can basically stop playing a game and shut down the Play Station 4 in a sleep mode. Instead of having to turn the Play Station 4 on and off, you can wake up your console and continue where you left off in a game. This option saves lots of time with loading.

2. USB Ports: Two USB ports work hand in hand with the I pad and I pod. A very nice addition to the system. USB is everywhere and adding another port was much needed indeed.
