Connecting Cave - Zubat Roost

- There are two paths into Connecting Cave. You'll ultimately want to take the bottom one, but we'll go to the top one first.

- Walk west. Almost straight ahead is a trainer.

Pokemon Breeder Marcy

Ducklett, level 12

Pikachu, level 12

Litleo, level 12

Oddish, level 12

Reward: $768

Not a tough battle, though Pikachu can cause a fuss if it manages to paralyze anyone with Static. Try not to touch it.

- And beyond iiiiis... nothing! For now, anyway. Leave the cave and head to the southern entrance instead.

- Go west... aaaand... straight out the other side. That was fast.

Route 8 - Muraille Coast

- Leave the cave. As you head west, Sycamore's two assistants will run in and upgrade your pokemon to include Coastal Kalos. After they leave, go down the stairs to the left, loop north and back east, and check the rock at the end of the short path. It contains a Super Potion. (Thanks to ryz for this.)

- Make your way along the ledges to the west. Head south when you reach the edge of the cliffs and you'll find an Hp Up.

- In the south you'll find a grassy patch. Beside it is a trainer.

Rising Star Paulette

Axew, level 19

Reward: $1,140

Pretty easy, even if this is your first dragon-type encounter. Wallop the little guy.

- Continue west. Once you enter the yellow flowers you'll find another trainer.

Rising Star Rhys

Pancham, level 15

Goldeen, level 17

Skiddo, level 17

Reward: $1,020

Straightforward on the whole. Goldeen is the only one likely to throw a wrench in the works if it lands Supersonic, and that's an almost fifty-fifty coin toss.

- Carry on south, then take a left at the next grassy patch. You'll find a trainer by the cliff edge. Just past him, near the edge of the cliff, is a hidden Escape Rope. Look one square right and one square down from the end of the cliff.

Black Belt Cadoc

Machop, level 20

Reward: $960

Though he's solo, this Machop can fight quite well. Don't send any normal- or dark-types into the ring or you're asking for trouble. Let a flying-type handle him.

- South, past the grass, is a rocky area with stepping stones. Move past them to the left and hop along the second horizontal set to reach a Leaf Stone. Then return to the first set and make your way down to the south.

- Continue south a short way and, hey, you're suddenly in Ambrette Town. Huzzah!

Ambrette Town

- Have a chat with your neighbour before entering the town. Fun times.

- The Pokemon Center is right by the stairs. Nothing special inside.

- Check the right side of the Pokemon Center for a path back to Route 8. It'll lead you to a Heart Scale.

- Talk to the woman outside the Pokemon Center. She'll give you TM 94, Rock Smash.

- Next to the Pokemon Center is the Aquarium. Talk to the guy in front of the golden Magikarp and he'll give you an Old Rod.

- Talk to the guy wandering south of the Pokemon Center. You can trade him a Poke Ball for a Dive Ball. You can make this trade once per day.

- Enter the house to the left of this guy. The girl inside will ask you for a pokemon with a high stat. What she gives you... well, I'm not sure yet. I'll come back to it. (Sorry.)

- Enter the building to the right of the guy. This is the Fossil Lab. Talk to the two scientists on the right side of the building to unlock...

- ... the Glittering Cave next door. Come back here shortly. For now, just talk to the woman who's not behind the desk for a Rocky Helmet.

- Last is the Hotel Ambrette, in the south of town. A woman in the lobby will give you TM 96, Nature Power, and Mr. Bonding will be on the second floor with another O-Power. After you're done in the hotel, head outside and check the edge of the cliffs to the south of the Hotel for a hidden X Attack. It's on the bottom-left square.

Enough searching about. Onward to the Glittering Cave!

Return Trip

Route 8

- There's a stone to move with Strength near the beginning of this Route. Push it into place to find a Water Stone.

Also, if anyone is having trouble with the Zangoose knocking out the Seviper in their hordes in Pokemon X, if you teach a pokemon Razor Leaf, it'll knock out all the Zangoose in one go and most likely just lower Seviper's Hp but not knock it out. Since it's a poison type, the grass type attack probably won't knock it out. Hope that helps!

Absol and Zangoose aren't only found in yellow flowers. I just encountered them both in tall grass.

Came back here because I wanted Zangoose but it only show's up in hordes with the rest bring Seviper for me. I managed to get it by teaching my lvl 16 Sandile Bulldoze, the TM can be bought in south Lumiose Pokemon Center. Since poison is weak to ground, it kills all the Sevipers but only takes the Zangoose down to just below half health. Hope this helps!

For those that are having the same issue as I had getting Seviper due to them only showing up in hordes of Zangoose, I used my Gardevoir that had learned Heal Pulse which helped heal and keep Seviper alive until I killed off all the Zangoose in order to throw a pokeball. Just a little tip and hope it helps.

If the girl says that she likes the stat you have, then you get a health wing

Cool. Once I get Fly and can return to these routes I'll verify these finds and stick 'em in the walkthrough. Thanks for the help, y'all.

There are zangoose on this route as well, they are found in hordes of seviper. And the seviper attack the zangoose until it faints before focusing on you, which makes it very difficult to capture because you can't catch anything until there's only one pokemon left

    • profile image

      Absol 4 years ago

If Seviper is Rare... then how come I keep running into them and Drifloon. I think Absol should be the one considered Absol. I've not seen a one in the night or day yet.

The lady who wants to see a Pokemon with a high stat, she asked for 90+ speed and my Braixen was close so I trained it up using super training and she gave me a health wing. No idea if its different per stat. Health wing slightly ups a Pokemon's base HP.
