Runescape - Best High Level AFK/Money Making Thieving Training!

Updated on August 17, 2017

Maxing Thieving

This guide will only be available to players who have completed Plagues End quest and have access to Prifddinas, and also who have minimum 91 Thieving.

So..You're in Prifddinas, as you may notice, this newer area of Runescape is split up in to 8 small factions, and each of these factions have their own Elven Workers you can pickpocket from to gain experience, the Levels required for these are:

Iorwerth worker: 91

Ithell worker 92:

Cadarn worker 93:

Amlodd worker 94:

Trahaearn worker 95:

Hefin worker 96:

Crwys worker 97:

Meilyr worker 98:

Now that you know the layout of Priffdinas, and the Level requirements of each section of it, let's talk gear:

You can wear the Trahaearn Exoskeleton set, or the Master Camouflage set

The Trahaearn Exoskeleton set is given as a reward from the Plagues End Quest, and the Master Camouflage set is made by combining all pieces of the Keldagrim, Priffdinas, and Desert Camouflage outfits, which fragments for can be got by training Thieving. Once you have enough Fragments you can simply build the outfit parts at any Invention Bench (needs to be unlocked first) and once you have created all 3 of each item, you can combine them to make the Master Camouflage set.

The bonuses for having the full Master Camouflage outfit are: Unlimited teleports to each clan of Priffdinas (along with Keldagrim, Pyramid Plunder & Pollniveach)

  • Auto-pickpocketing up to a maximum of 10 times in a row.
  • 7% chance to double pickpocket, alongside a 7% chance to avoid being stunned when pickpocketing.
  • Increased chances of finding Seren symbol pieces.
  • Uses Black ibis outfit's bonus experience if owned, even while the set is in the bank or player-owned house.
  • Uses Trahaearn exoskeleton set's effects if owned, even while the set is in the bank or player-owned house.
  • Wearing Master camouflage hands gives the same benefits as Gloves of silence provided you own the gloves and meet the requirements to use them.

Other recommended Items include:

  • Active Five-finger discount aura - which can be purchased from Solomons General Store
  • Using the Crystal Mask spell - A reward from The Light Within Quest, which grants a +15% pickpocketing chance for 5 minutes, It requires 4 Soul Runes, 5 Body Runes, 6 Fire Runes and 7 Earth Runes to cast.
  • Abyssal Lurker familiar with an Abyssal Stealth Scroll - This will add an increase of 4 to your Thieving Level
  • Gloves of Silence - These are only necessary until you have the Master Camouflage outfit, as the gloves in that outfit give the same effect as the Gloves of Silence
  • Wearing an Ardougne cloak 3 or higher - Better chance to be successful when stealing.

Strategy

If you are NOT 99 Thieving: Start with whichever Clans workers are best suited for your level, and using the Trahaearn Exoskeleton Set simply rotate pickpocketing between the clan(s) you can access, and you'll be firing through the levels in no time!

98 Thieving or Higher: you have access to all of the Elven Workers to Pickpocket! now, there is really no "best" way to pickpocket the workers, so I would recommend following the order of clans on the Runescape Map (Meilyr, Crwys, Cadarn, Trahaearn, Iorwerth, Ithell, Amlodd, Hefin)

As it can be slightly confusing keeping up with the names of each Clan of Priffdinas, another method I would also recommend would be to use the orders of Teleportation in the Exoskeleton Set, or the Master Camouflage Set, which is sorted on level requirements (Iorwerth, Ithell, Cadarn, Amlodd, Trahaearn, Hefin, Crwys, Meilyr)

Once you have your preffered order of rotation sorted out, the Elven Workers will be patrolling each Clan Area, very near the teleport points, simply click on the "Pickpocket" Option and you will begin, you will continue to thieve the Workers for a period of time, until they notice you. Once noticed, a message will appear in the chat stating you have "One Warning out of three"

After the first warning, the Elf you were pick pocketing has a cool down active, so you can simply start Pick pocketing another Elf until he too notices you, and gives you the Second Warning (The second warning will Always come much faster than the first)

After the second warning, simply repeat the steps again and you will get the Third Warning which will stop you from being able to Pick pocket any workers in that clan until the cool down is over. The cool down time for each clan is around about 20 minutes after the third warning.

By the time you have reached the end of your Clan Thieving Cycle, the cool down on the first Clan will have expired, leaving you able to restart the cycle again, this will grant you 200k+ experience per hour, depending on how much you AFK throughout the Thieving process.
