Shop 'Till You Drop in Georgia

For many, a vacation is not complete without time spent checking out the area malls and shopping venues. If this is part of your Georgia travel plans, then here are some of the great shopping venues found across the wide ranging Metro-Atlanta area.

Arbor Place Mall- Situated in Douglasville, this beautiful mall is especially convenient to Atlanta’s west suburbs. You will find Macy’s and Parisians as its anchors and additional stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Old Navy, and Borders Book & Music. Of course, if you need a break from shopping, why not watch the latest release at one of the 18 screens at Regal Cinemas.

Augusta Mall- At this two level mall you can shop for the latest seasonal “must haves” at Penny’s, Macys, Dillards, and Sears. In 2007, the Augusta Promenade was added to the mall bringing shops such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Nine West, The Body Shop, Williams-Sonoma, and the Walking Company. Eateries include Sbarro and P.F. Changs China Bistro.

Cumberland Mall- Convenient to Cobb Parkway, this is just the place to spend a day shopping for the perfect outfit, gift, decorative piece, etc. You will find stores like the Body Shop, Lids, It’s about Time, Gymboree, American Eagle, Kay Jewelers, Spa Secrets and Hallmark along with well known eateries such as Jason’s Deli, Sbarros, Starbucks, Haagen-Dazs and Taco Bell and more elegant dining at Maggiano’s little Italy or Ted’s Montana Grill.

Discover Mills–From it’s easy to follow layout,and a wide selection of specialty store like  art stores like the Plaid Store, the Lego store (only one in Georgia), and numerous other stores  for the young and youthful at heart, you are sure to have a great time shopping her. And for  a unique dining experience, visit the Medieval Times which helps you step back in time to the days of the joust and titles of Lord and Lady. There is also an eclectic a food court with cuisine from around the world, and kiosk’s of all types. Discover Mills has something for everyone – regardless of your budget.

Lenox Square Mall-Located near Buckhead, this large upscale mall has half a dozen movie theaters, a wide variety of restaurants and food kiosk, along with more than 200 home furnishing, clothing, jewelry and electronics stores in addition to including the J.W. Marriott Hotel. Well-known stores like Macys, Neiman Marcus, Riches, Godiva, and GAP as well as restaurants like Brasserire, Le Coze, Tom Tom and California Pizza Kitchen can be found here.

To continue shopping, use the Lenox Square Mall Shoppers’ Chauffeur to continue shopping at the Phipps Plaza. Here at Atlanta’s most elite shopping locale, the directory includes stores such as Lord & Taylor, Saks, H. Stockton, Louis Vinton, and Brooks Brothers. Its eateries range from Fine dining to Casual eateries offering cuisine from around the world. You will find elegant boutiques, gift stores, and a movie complex with over a dozen screens.

Little Five Points-With its eclectic selections ranging from vintage clothing to modern art, local artisans, Bohemian boutiques and trendy restaurants and clubs, you are sure to find the perfect accessory for your home or wardrobe.

North Point Mall– If you will be in the Alpharetta area of Atlanta, then don’t miss the opportunity to visit this impressive mall. From Victoria’s Secret to Janie & Jack, Pottery Barn to Sephora, Sharper Image to Coach-North Point Mall has something for everyone. Of special interest, if you have young children are the rides and themed play area complete with a carousel.

Perimeter Mall -With 200 specialty shops, anchoring stores Bloomingdales, Dillards, Macys, and Nordstrom you will find a wide variety of items from clothes and accessories to cookware and sporting goods. Eateries include Season 52, Wildfire, Hudson Grille, The Cheesecake Factory and Maggiano’s Little Italy.

Savannah Mall–Although not located in Atlanta, if you will be spending time along the Georgia coast, then you will want to be sure you do some shopping her. As the area’s newest shopping location, this beautiful mall has something for everyone. The 2 story mall has a wide assortment of eateries, and indoor carousel, and stores like J.B. White, Montgomery Ward, Parisians and Belk. From books to baskets, cookware to country elegance this is the place to shop.

Tanger Factory Outlet Center- Located just outside of Commerce the Tanger Outlet has and abundance of national apparel, home furnishing, sporting good stores and many other favorites retailers as well as an asortment of dining locations all at "one" convenient address.

Underground Atlanta-For a trendy and unique shopping experience, Underground Atlanta is a must. Literally located underground with an entrance on Alabama Street, there is no end to the entertainment and excitement found when shopping or dining here. Whether it’s fortune tellers or street performers, music and dancing, great food or even having your wedding ceremony there is an abundance of entertainment to be found. Of course, if it’s “all about the shopping” then be sure to check places like the Bonnies, Ginza, Reggae Brand and Scentsations.

So, put on your shopping shoes and get ready to shop till you drop. With so many places to choose from you are going to need to schedule a few days!
