Social Empires Guide - Build Your Own Empire: Tips and Tricks

Updated on May 6, 2013 | Source

Build Your Own Empire Game

Social Empires is an online strategy game pretty similar to Age of Empires. You get to build your own base and start training units to invade islands or invade other online players' empires. I am going to give a brief guide to each of the following sections:

  • Building your empire
  • Gathering resources
  • Training military units
  • Leveling and earning cash
  • Expansions
  • Quests
  • Invading other empires

These are the main things you can do to make your empire a successful one. Do you have what it takes to build the best and strongest empire?

Building Your Empire

Building your empire in Social Empires is relatively easy. There is no one to bug you from building, so you can build it however way you want. Follow the king's instructions and learn how to build the basic buildings such as houses, mills, barracks and more.

Gathering Resources

There are 4 primary resources that you can get. They are gold, wood, stone and food. To gather resources, you will need to build workers from your town house to have them chop trees, pick stones, mine gold and so on.

Gold is used for buildings, upgrading and units. They are also used for land expansions. You can also get gold from doing quests and fighting other players as well.

Wood is used for building houses and other structures such as stables. Wood can be gotten from the mills and lumber mills. You can also get workers to go chop some trees to gain some more.

Stone is used mainly for buildings and defensive structures. Workers can go collect stones in your area, or you can get more from stone mills.

Food is used for getting units. Get your workers to build farms and ranches to collect food. You can catch sheeps and cows for some extra food as well. | Source

Training Military Units

You can build different kinds of units. However, most of the powerful units can only be unlocked by leveling and upgrading your town house.

Melee Units

Melee units include your normal spear man, swordsman, knights and dragons.

Ranged Units

You have archers, wizards, some strong dragons such as the ice dragon.

Machine Units

This includes rams, catapults and cannons.

The Soul Mixer

This special building allows you to mix 2 units to get a stronger one. The stronger the units, the longer it takes to mix them. Try to mix units whenever you can. You will want to get strong units for invasion. Mixing dragons will give you a huge advantage when invading other players.

Leveling and getting Cash

You level as you build buildings, gather resources and do quests. The best ways to level is keep gathering resources and build buildings that give you the most amount of experience.

Earning Cash

Unfortunately, there isn't a good method for this. Besides leveling up and getting 1 cash per level, the only other way is to get the daily bonus every day and hope for some free cash.

Use your given cash wisely. Use it only if you really have to, such as land expansion.

To expand your land, you will have to buy it with gold or use cash. You will need at least 1 friend to expand it with gold though. So you have to invite some friends to play the game.

Social Empires Quests

You can do 3 quests every 6 hours. The quests usually involve attacking islands and getting treasures. Each quest gets progressively harder than the previous ones. Make sure you have a good mix of ranged and melee units to make sure you do not get overwhelmed by enemies.

Invading other Empires(PvP)

You can search for empires close to your level to fight. Each search costs 200 gold. However, if your siege is successful, you can steal all the resources of that empire. This is a good way to earn a lot of resources if you have powerful units such as dragons, golems or robots. | Source

Social Empires Guide Conclusion

If you enjoyed games such as Starcraft, Age of Empires or Warcraft 3, this game is probably going to be a lot of fun to play. It is free to play after all and it does not require too much time to play. This game can be enjoyed by casual gamers as well.

Searching for players to attack costs more as you level up. I am level 32 and it costs 700 gold to search.
