Space Dominion Game Tips and Tricks Guide

Updated on April 1, 2015

Space Dominion: Which Device?

Strategy games that have static battles are best enjoyed on pretty much any size touchscreen. Sure, it's nice when you aren't accidentally clicking other items on a small device, but in my experience, that hasn't been much of a problem in Space Dominion.

What I did find surprising is that slower devices have trouble getting in and out of structures at times because of the zoom-in effect that the game employs. So if you have a choice of a faster device, that will be your go-to this time around.

Space Dominion on Mobile Devices

Space Dominion treads some familiar territory for experienced mobile gamers. Taking the setting of Star Trek or Mass Effect, it applies the tried and true formula of building up structures, hiring troops for an army and attacking others to grow your empire. There's a reason why these games are some of the most popular in the gaming world, and you'll find yourself spending a healthy amount of time on Space Dominion as a result.

It's one of the sharpest looking and freshest entries in the genre. And if you're an aspiring space cowboy or a Trekkie in hiding, this very well could be the game for you.

Game Tip 1 for Space Dominion

Space Dominion Game Tip 1: Build an additional energy core

It's the most proven method of getting ahead in strategy games -- when given the opportunity to increase the number of builders, do it now! In Space Dominion, you can undergo one upgrade or project for every energy core you have, and you start with one. And unless you're willing to spend all your resources speeding up construction, then you should spend up front and get the energy core so you can have two things running at once.

You'll still be able to speed up priority projects, and allow your second energy core to take on secondary tasks that aren't in any rush to be completed.

Game Tip 2 for Space Dominion

Space Dominion Game Tip 2: Early missions are profitable

In an attempt to get you hooked on speeding up construction, the game developers of Space Dominion make the first handful of missions profitable. That means they're paying you resources to speed up your construction to complete quests. Rather than be stingy and wait around for quests to complete early on, you should be rushing every profitable quest out there.

Game Tip 3 for Space Dominion

Space Dominion Game Tip 3: Do not go overboard with reinforcements

There are moments when you will start a fight that isn't going well - you're losing troops by the handful and your first inclination is to drop in every single reinforcement troop you have to squash the enemy. Do not do that; I beg you.

For every reinforcement troop that you send in, you have spent the resources to hire them and you will never get them back once they are deployed. So the fewer troops you use to win a battle, the more you can save for future fights.

So once you get the hang of managing how many troops are needed to win a battle, resist the temptation to go overboard with reinforcements.

Game Tip 4 for Space Dominion

Space Dominion Game Tip 4: Use science to boost colony production

There are in actuality many things you can do to get ahead in Space Dominion, but if I have to choose one to keep in mind, it's probably the need to use science as much as possible. With breakthroughs in science and technology, you can literally improve every operation function of your colony -- most importantly, boosting production of and storage of resources.

So when you're not sure what to do with those abundant resources, invest in some science and enjoy the benefits for the rest of the game.

Space Dominion Tips Summary

So, to summarize, here's what you need to know:

  1. Build an additional energy core
  2. Early missions are profitable
  3. Do not go overboard with reinforcements
  4. Use science to boost colony production
  5. Spend cash early on for resources

Game Tip 5 for Space Dominion

Space Dominion Game Tip 5: Spend cash early on for resources

As in most games and in real life, cash is king. And with cash, you can purchase necessary resources at affordable prices. And early on in the game, you're practically begged to spend cash on resources because the prices are so good.

So when you need a little more titanium for construction, spend a buck and get it!
