Starcraft 2: Walking the Brutal Path - Part 1
Hello, fellow hubbers! This hub is going to be somewhat more brief than the ones I've done recently, as it's going to be a quick guide on how best to advance in the Starcraft II campaign.
I'm going to analyze the first few mission choices you can make in the Star Map on the Hyperion.
Let us begin!

These first three missions, all located on Mar Sara, are defined by the fact that there's no choices to make. You get what you get for new technology (Marines in mission one, Medics in mission two, Bunkers in mission three), and that's it. These missions are beatable with what you get, even on Brutal, so no worries there.
After this, you will find yourself on the Hyperion and with two choices on the Star Map. You will get a distress call from one Dr. Ariel Hanson on Agria to go save the remaining colonists on the planet. The other mission advances the Artifact storyline and has you going to Monlyth to find another Xel'Naga artifact.
The question you're going to be asking yourself all campaign is: Do I need the unit I get from one mission in another?
In this case, doing Agria first nets you the Firebats for Monlyth, but you get Marauders in Monlyth, which are way more than adequate for clearing that mission. Also, in Agria you will see Roaches and even a pair of Ultralisks on Brutal, both of which are armored, and for which you'd have no hard counter if you don't have Marauders at that time. So, the mission path up to now is:
Mar Sara Missions --- Monlyth
After beating Monlyth, you unlock Redstone, which nets you Reapers. Ask yourself the question again, "do I need Reapers in Agria?". The answer is, "Not really". So, we do Agria next, which makes the path look like this:
Mar Sara Missions --- Monlyth --- Agria
Completing Agria unlocks Meinhoff, which will give us Hellions (and the Factory if you don't have any Factory units yet), but we don't need Hellions for Redstone; that particular mission can be done with just Reapers, so let's do Redstone after Agria, so your path looks like this:
Mar Sara Missions --- Monlyth --- Agria --- Redstone
Completing Redstone, which incidentally is the start of the Covert storyline, unlocks Bel Shir. Nothing can really prepare you for that beast of a mission on Brutal, and you have all that you need to clear it already (use Marauders and Marines in conjunction with the Goliaths you unlock in said mission as well). I'd rather get it out of the way, especially since I find Goliaths to be underwhelming in this game, but your experience may vary in that respect. The alternatives are Meinhoff for Hellions, which are low-utility on Bel Shir, and Tarsonis which gives Diamondbacks, which...are totally out of place and require Factories with Tech Labs to make anyway, so just wait until later to do those missions. Your mission path should look like this:
Mar Sara Missions --- Monlyth --- Agria --- Redstone --- Bel Shir
After Bel Shir, do Meinhoff. Use Reapers and Hellions to destroy the Infested buildings. Marauders, Firebats and Marines will defend your base against the infested hordes inside of Bunkers.
Mar Sara Missions --- Monlyth --- Agria --- Redstone --- Bel Shir --- Meinhoff

Like I said, this is a very brief hub that serves to show you what path I recommend to take in the campaign on Brutal. Your experiences may vary, and in fact I hope you comment if you disagree on one of my choices. I'd like to see how you guys are clearing this campaign on the highest difficulty level! Part 2 will be coming whenever I finish the campaign on Brutal (well, until I unlock the whole tech tree; at which time it doesn't really matter what mission you pick since you get no new tech.) :)
