Starcraft Video

Updated on December 5, 2010

There has been an excited furor over the impending release of starcraft 2 the game. Starcraft has been a mainstay of professional gaming tournaments over the years. It remains a lucrative and popular electronic sport in korea, and makes its appearances in US and Europe tournaments on a smaller scale.

Due to the anticipation and rising heat, there has been a lot more video sites started, or sites that have become more active in covering starcraft news. Most of these are thankfully found on youtube, which is a much easier site to access than the rest. The tools to download the videos from the youtube sites are also easily available.

One of the best additions so far has been the series called Hyung Joon becomes a progamer. It chronicles the path of a singer/idol going into the world of professional gaming in korea and trying to become a qualified professional gamer. Yes, apparently they require a license to play professional gaming over there. Over at the nevake channel in youtube, they provide subs. It has 10 episodes and is totally hilarious, as well as giving a good overview of what it takes to become a professional gamer in korea. It shows the hard work required, as well as the fun they have. Another thing that struck me was that the equipment they used were very old. Here's my hub on how to get their cheap starcraft equipment

The same user also showcases recent tournaments from around the world, but mainly from korea. It shows many games and replays, and although criticisms have been leveled at it for showing who wins the game, you could always just load it up to your handphone or handheld device through a downloader and watch it on the go.

With starcraft 2 there has been another site that is starting to get known for uploading replays of the starcraft 2 (currently still in beta, but there has been a friendly competitive spirit rising amongst the beta players). You can go over to to check it out. It shows many of starcraft 2 matches in HD quality, and looks pretty good on the screen. It may take a bit of time to load it up however.

And there you have it, quite a bit of sites to fill up your time by watching starcraft on youtube.

I played a lot with Starcraft, a great game. Thanks for having reminded me of one of the best games I played when a lot younger. :)
