TERA Leveling Guide
What is TERA Online
The game of Tera-online has a world all its own with its very own conflict between gods scheming, armies clashing, the world can change in a few seconds. You can explore several different areas of Tera. The different areas are Northern Shara, Southern Shara, Southern Arun, and the Island of Dawn, each with its own amount of territories.
The Norther Shara portion of the Tera world has seven different territories, the very center of the land has the main city Allemantheia located in it. The Southern Shara has eight different territories with the main city being Veeika. Both of the Shara lands are located side by side, but have to be kept separate due to the terrible conflicts between the two. There are also the Island of Dawn, which is one individual island with only one standing territory, and the Southern Arun, which has more territories than any other land with a total of ten and the main city being Kaiator.
While playing the game you will notice several different races such as the Amani, Baraka, Castanics, High Elves, Humans, and Poporis.
The Valkyon Federations has these races and they come with their own lore, point of view, and long history. In the game they are fighting their way back into existence.

There are several classes as well including the Sorcerer, Priest, Mystic, Slayer, Berserker, Archer, Warrior, and Lancer. These all have their powerful abilities and increase as the level of the character does. The weapons of choice for the Priest is a magical staff, for the slayer it is a greatsword, for the Mystic it is a magical scepter, the Archer has a bow and arrows that do much damage to their enemies, Sorcerer a magical disc that can be shaped into what ever magical force the character chooses, the Berserker has a mighty two handed axe, the great Warrior carries double bladed twin swords along for the fight, while the Lancer carries a damaging lance and a shield that does just about the same amount of damage to their enemies.

The enemies that lie within the world of Tera are the Acharak, Earth Spirit, Ghilliedhus, Terrons, and Vekas the Wicked Tree. The Acharak is a Orcan that considers itself the Claw Warlord of the Dark. The Earth Spirit is an elemental race and they’re good at causing nuisance and as research subjects. The Ghilliedhus or the Ghilliedhu, is normally located around grassy areas or forests, they are slow at moving and can telegraph their attacks in advance. The last of the enemies or beasts is Vekas the Wicked Tree, is also a Ghilliedhu, however he is more the menace of the expedition. He is located on the Island of Dawn.
Where to find out more?
Tera-online also offers an official news page that is dedicated to the in-game play. On this page you can view the different types of news that happen inside the world of Tera-Online. They have events that happen in the game play, screenshots of the week, Velika’s Voice, Pegasus Express, and several other articles as well to keep their daily dedicated members informed on the up to date news. Most of the news deals with the makers and in game play such as their questions and answers and other blog worthy news.
Additionally, there are a lot of fansites available with all kinds of information, media and guides. One that I'd like to recommend is TERA Leveling Guide, a very thorough website with the best guides for both new and more experienced players.
How to Locate Quest Objectives
Often times when you'll be doing a quest in TERA Online, you may start wondering where a certain quest item or monster is. You can always easily open your quest log by pressing the "L" key on your keyboard.
In the quest log, within the quest text, you will find highlighted text which you can click in order to show the quest objective and location on the map. A very handy feature which I'm sure you'll be using quite frequently.
Using Combo Skills
As you can see in the image, combo skills are shown on the right side of the center of your user interface. Combo skills appear when you use certain skills to begin a combo chain, or when a particular event happens. To execute a particular combo skills, press the Space Bar on your keyboard.
For example, if you're playing a slayer you can use your "Bisection Slash" combo only after you use the skill "Smash". On a warrior, you can use your "Tornado" combo after you dodge an attack.
In my second example, you can use combo skills after a certain game mechanic: for example, you can use "Soaring Attack" combo after you get knocked back. It enables you to quickly get up and back into the fight.
Many of these combo skills you will use depending on the situation, but frequently you can choose which ones to use which makes for some interesting gameplay decisions.
Using Enhancement Crystals
Enhancement crystals are a unique way to improve your equipment and weapons. Crystals are consumable items, meaning that in case your character dies or you decide to replace them they will be lost.
Enhancement crystals can be placed in your equipment to improve your characters abilities and strength. A more detailed crystals guide can be found on this link.
You can acquire enhancement crystals by either killing monsters, or by purchasing them from NPCs. Make sure you buy them as soon as you can as they will help you fight significantly.
In the world of Arborea you will come across many monsters which can and can not be killed by you alone. It's especially annoying if you come across such a monster when doing a quest, as you will have a very hard time defeating it unless you group up with other players.
When such a quest involving a difficult monster is given to you, there will be a special indicator displayed next to the quest name, as seen in the picture. It's always a good idea to check for quest difficulty before heading out to complete it on your own.
This was only a beginners guide to get new players started with the basics of TERA Online. There are many more advanced guides which you can read and which are extremely helpful, even if you play the game for awhile.
All of these more advanced guides can be found on www.leveling-guides.com, alongside with a detailed comparison of their contents and features. Be sure to check it out!
