Tap Sports Baseball 2015: Which Device?

When it comes to Tap Sports Baseball, I'm happy to report that screen size doesn't really matter. That means you can grab your iPhone 5c or your last generation Android device and get right to work. In fact, after playing on 3 different devices, I haven't really decided yet which one will be my main console for the game.

What does matter very deeply with this game is a strong internet connection. I don't want to dissuade you from playing on the go, but unless you're near a strong Wi-Fi signal, you're going to run into some load times and potential network drops while playing. So if you have a choice, sidle up to a wireless router and you'll enjoy the experience more.

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 on Mobile Devices

It was a little under a year ago that I got seriously hooked on the mobile game, Tap Sports Baseball, by the fine folks at Glu. I'm not traditionally a big baseball fan, but as someone that enjoys well-executed mobile experiences and sports, it ended up being one of my favorite games of the year.

Fast forward to April 2015 and the latest incarnation has hit mobile app stores, and it will surely by one of the best games of the Spring and Summer. And taking what I've learned from last year combined with some new revolutionary tips and tricks, this will hopefully be a useful guide for players, old and new.

And if you haven't gotten the basics down for Tap Sports Baseball, I recommend you start here with my tips from last year:

Game Tip 1 for Tap Sports Baseball 2015

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Tip 1: Watch videos constantly

Sports games tend to be very competitive when you're going up against other players from around the country, or the world. And when it comes down to it, quality talent is usually the biggest advantage you can attain. And the quickest way to make your time the best is to watch videos for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Every video you watch will reward you with a small amount of gold, and because you can watch videos every day, you'll be able to bring in a first round draft pick in no time (using only your video rewards gold).

Game Tip 2 for Tap Sports Baseball 2015

Tap Sports Baseball Game Tip 2: Quantity, then quality

The general rule in any game that has a heavy management focus like this one is to amass quality over quantity for the long run. While that is true, if you don't want to suffer through a lot of defeats early on, you need to get better quickly.

Luckily your initial team stinks so anyone that you bring on will be an instant improvement. So use up those coins on low level draft picks and save up the gold for first round picks later on.

Game Tip 3 for Tap Sports Baseball 2015

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Game Tip 3: Play a lot of games

Tap Sports Baseball allows you to start up at least 10-12 games against opponents so that you're more likely to have unfinished matches each time you log in. The benefit of this, aside from just having more games to play, is that the more you play, the more achievements you'll unlock just by playing.

By unlocking these achievements, you'll get even more gold and cash to spend on team upgrades and new players so that you have a fighting chance against the stiffer competition yet to come.

Game Tip 4 for Tap Sports Baseball 2015

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Game Tip 4: Pitching wins championships

If you're going to focus on either offense or defense, I'm going to recommend that you look at your pitching first. Not only do you not have any control over your pitcher's actual pitching, but you also have complete control over your hitter's hitting. So with practice, you'll become a better hitter to make up for poor talent.

But if you offer up a weak pitching staff, then your opponents will slap the ball all over the field and you won't stand a chance. So beef up your pitching staff, invest in pitching upgrades, and pray.

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Tips Summary

So, to summarize, here's what you need to know:

  1. Watch videos constantly
  2. Quantity, then quality
  3. Play a lot of games
  4. Pitching wins championships
  5. Play to your strengths

Good luck!

Game Tip 5 for Tap Sports Baseball 2015

Tap Sports Baseball 2015 Game Tip 5: Play to your strengths

The unfortunate reality about building your team in a game like Tap Sports Baseball 2015 is that you have limited resources, and you will also end up with team members that don't fit your scheme. I'm here to tell you that it doesn't matter what your scheme is, because you need to exploit your players' strengths.

Case in point: Just because you want to have 4 mashers with power doesn't mean that you should bench a better overall player that brings better contact and speed to the field. Likewise, if you have someone who's awesome at bunting, and they get a chance, bunt the darn ball!
