Tier 1

Free the injured man from the trap.

After accepting the mission, use the bear trap which is holding the survivor, to release it's spring and free the injured chap. Occasionally, you may find the trap lying there without anybody trapped in it, the injured man being temporarily nonexistent. This usually happens when someone else is already on the mission nearby, leading the injured man to safety themselves. You can still accept the mission but you'll have to wait for the man to respawn before you can free him yourself.

Lead the injured man safely to the Sheriff's Office.

Once he is free you'll be give a waypoint way off where the Sheriff's Office of Kingsmouth is. The injured man will follow you around and in some cases assist you with his shotgun, so you're wounded temporary companion isn't completely helpless.

Things should go rather smoothly if you can avoid the creatures which normally occupy this area. It isn't until you are about to reach the Sheriff's Office that anything spawns to attack you, mission trigger wise. When it does though, it will be about 6-8 zombies labeled Ravenous Horde. Since your buddy has a shotgun and these are of the weaker variety of zombies, they should be little problem, but you can always try top draw the zombies nearer the Sheriff's Office to try to get some of the NPCs there to cap the brain dead for you. Just don't leave the wounded man behind to fend for himself as the zombies can and will attack him.

A couple of the zombies that spawn are labeled Crazed or Predatory Rippers, which you'll need to watch out for. These are significantly tougher zombies and can really mess up the survivor if not paid attention to.

Once you've fended off this attack and dealt with any other threats, lead the survivor all the way to the interior of the office. Once he is inside with you, the tier should complete, allowing you to send for your mission reward.

That'll Leave A Mark - Mission Rewards:

22,652 Experience
