Star Wars Arcade (1994)

Be the fighter pilot of an X Wing in first rod third person perspective in Star Wars Arcade which is loosely based on the films. Top notch game play and excellent graphics along with the fact that it is a Star Wars game helped this title become memorable. On the other hand, It was far too easy to beat which made it boring after you beat it tons of times.

The game does have excellent music and the plot kept the game fun if you were a Star Wars fan. If only it was a bit harder.

Night Trap (1994)

Night Trap is a horror, full motion video game. Freaky, zombie type freaks are trying to kill people in a house but you have control over the house with a room jumping camera. As monsters cross booby traps your character can use switches to catch them.

The game was unique and quite scary for its time. The fact that it caused controversy made it even more popular. It didn't have much blood and gore but the full motion video made TG creeps look too real for some.

Mortal Kombat 2 (1995)

MK2 is a remake of Mortal Kombat 2 for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo with improved graphics and CD quality sound instead of cartridge based sounds. One on one combat using kicks, punches and of course, a devastating finishing move.

This game was violent and showed lots of blood. Each warrior has his own distinct and gruesome finishing move such as cutting your foe in half or making him explode.

Doom (1994)

In this horror video game your a marine who must kill demons from Hell by destroying them with destructive weapons in first person mode. Three main levels with 8 rounds of action in each. The final level is the coolest as you fight through Hell inside earth and have to beat Mastermind and escape.

Doom spawned a decade of games such as Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein which completely borrowed from the Doom concept. The plot is scary to say the least since it's to do with Hell. Three sequels to this game were released.

FIFA Soccer 96 (1995)

The game has a cool, 15 song soundtrack and it's the first Soccer game to have the players name, stats and outfits updated to be just like it is in real soccer. The game uses 3D graphics for the background which was groundbreaking in sports games at the time.

The game has several good features such as good music, graphics and gameplay but it's not realistic as it allows major comebacks fa too easy (Think NBA Jam) and it's not hard enough for a hardcore gamer who likes stiff competition.

Sega 32X Review

Virtua Fighter

Virtua Fighter features polygonal graphics and awesome one on one fighting. Win two out of three bouts to win the contest.

Knuckles Chaotix (1995)

Play as Sonic, Knuckles or several other new characters made just for this special edition 32X release. As always go after Dr. Robotnik by going around loops and flips and wild turns while collecting coins, jumping and winning levels.

Knuckles is fun without a doubt and if you love Sonic games well then here you go. The only complaint is that it felt too much like Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and it needed to change the hoops and loops up a little bit. Still it is an addicting game like all Sonic games.

Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game

Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game was one of only two wrestling games released for the 32X.

Virtua Fighter (1995)

This fighting game has constant 3D polygonal graphics which is still cool looking even nowadays. The tournament mode consists of best of three bouts and 9 total fighters to defeat. Kick, punch, block or do combinations of flying kicks and elbows in order to win the rounds. Play against the computer or against a friend in two player mode.

This game was a tasty treat that was later released again on the Sega Saturn. A classic arcade game brought home to players. Awesome. Choose between a few fighters, each with their own style of fighting.

Grade: A-

WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game (1995)

This one or two player wrestling game features live, on time commentary with Vince McMahon and you can play as any one of eight different WWF stars or even create your own wrestler from scratch.

No Holds Barred bouts, cage matches, tag team contests and fights for the heavyweight title are all in a wrestling days work in this video game. Their is no backstage action and very little drama. An okay game to play against a pal but otherwise the controls and limited wrestling moves are a disappointment.

The Amazing Spiderman (32X)

The Web of Fire allows your character (Spiderman) to climb buildings and shoot webs at criminals.

Surgical Strike (1995)

A full, motion video game that takes place in space. Use your brain as much as your weapons. Make quick decisions and watch the full motion video clips do the rest. It lags behind slightly which makes the game slow even though the idea wasn't bad.

Too much Full Motion Video ruined this game which had a great storyline but it just wasn't meant to work.

Grade: C-

Spiderman: Web of Fire (1996)

As Spiderman you must spin your web and get through six levels of gameplay in the criminal ridden areas of New York. Defeat a bad guy boss at the end of each stage with Adaptoid being the main boss at the end of the game.

The game is a one player game which is a negative and it's a side scroller but one beat thing is that you can get these power ups that sends Daredevil to help you in certain rough situations. The gameplay is fast and although the game is easy it's also super fun swinging from building to buckling from webs.
