The Wii U - Description, Review and Discussion

Updated on June 6, 2012

Will YOU be getting the Wii U?

The Wii U has been announced exactly one year ago at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011. It has gotten a lot of attention being a totally new way to game. I always thought that the original Wii was a really innovative gaming system, but I never got the chance to buy one. The Wii U looks stylish and the gameplay, from what I’ve seen, looks really intriguing. I think that this system will be the next new thing, but we will have to wait until at least the end of this year to find out! Being Nintendos’ 6th home console, I think that this is a good change from the Wii. Still in the same genre of a system, but much more convenient.

The new touchscreen controller is pretty awesome in my opinion. It is like a huge DS that you can control what you do on the TV screen as well. This will really change your gaming experience in that you can actually have a big screen to see what you’re doing, as well as having the freedom to use the touchscreen to have much more accuracy.

There is also a regular controller that you can use for games that don’t necessarily need the touchscreen controller. Just like the PS3 and XBOX, the controller will be for regular gaming without any movement.

Like the Wii and 3DS, there will be a Mii world where you can make Miis’ and see other peoples’ Mii characters. A new app store will be made for the Wii U and there will be more apps and games to choose from. There will be numerous games to be released for the Wii U including, New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, An untitled Legend of Zelda and many more. Some of these have been long awaited like Pikmin 3, which is from the Pikmin game series.

The Wii U is expected to be released at the end of this year, but it has not been confirmed. I think that this system will be more popular then the Wii was, although the Wii was a very popular system. The Wii U seems to be a little more innovative and just cooler in my opinion. Another good thing is that it will be backwards compatible with the Wii and you will be able to use the Wii Remotes and Nunchuks as well. This will also incline people to buy it knowing that they can still play old Wii games.

I would say that this will be the next new thing, although it is hard to tell at this point. I think that families will be loving this and they will be buying it right away. The Wii was popular with kids and I think the Wii U will be more popular with young adults, pleasing everyone. The graphics will be much more polished then the Wii and I think that all of these things combined will make one great system. Be sure to preorder yours when it is announced, because I have a feeling it will be a sold out console!

07-11-2011 Okay, those last ones had me guffawing a good 50 caleoirs! Especially the devil one, the b*tch one, and the men being wrong one. I've heard that if you have more than three bumper stickers on your car then you're certifiable. If I put these three on, with the two of my dogs, the Rockstar Games one, and my fairy princess one, then yep, I'd be certifiable. But you know, I think I already am.Oh, wait! I need that memory died one, too. Yep. I'm nuts. Thanks for the laugh!

Nice article. I really enjoyed this quick read. I'm really excited about the Wii U. I love Nintendo and I hope they keep making gaming consoles until I'm too old to play them. :)
