Top 10 Optical Illusions to Trick your Mind

Updated on August 9, 2011

The mind is incredibly complex and full of mysteries. The mind takes in raw information, processes it and gives you a mental picture and perception. What makes the mind very interesting is that we can trick it through optical illusions.

Optical illusions are defined as "visually perceived images that differ from reality" (according to Wikipedia). They often are absorbed but trick the mind because they do not match the physical measurments from which they are perceived. Science out of the way, they're really fun!

Here are my pick for the top 10 optical illusions to trick your mind ...

Move your head back and forth toward the center dot to see the illusion rotate.

Bonus: A Cool Optical Illusion Video

It's interesting to see what the mind perceives when it's not able to fully recognize an object.

It really makes you wonder about how the world is perceived for a child; perhaps their minds aren't yet fully aware of the world and they are flooded with so much raw information that it gives people that spark of imagination and wonderment.

Over time, maybe we start to loose some of this perception?

What I say: Always be creative. Imagine. Have fun and make your own perception of the world.
