Embermage is the powerful fire, ice, and electric magic casters in Torchlight 2.

For beginners, this article provides sample Embermage builds that you can use for your reference.

Please take note that I will update this article from time to time if there are needed changes or for providing more builds.


Fire Embermage Build


The Inferno Mage! Fire is the main element of this build, burning enemies that cause damage overtime.

The build is all about dealing massive damage.

Magma Spear, Blazing Pillar, and Firestorm are your main damage dealing skills. Alternately cast Firestorm and Blazing Pillar then Magma Spear when both spell are in cooldown.

Fire Brand lets you deal additional damage on burning enemies.

Charge Mastery makes you powered up often to deal more damage and spam lots of skills.

Elemental Boon increases your resistance and damage to elements.

A single point in Frost Phase, Ice Prison, and Frozen Fate is enough. Use Frost Phase to teleport and Ice Prison for trapping enemies. Frozen Fate is a passive skill that has chance to immobilize.

Astral Ally creates a duplicate of yourself so that you can deal more elemental spells.

Prismatic Rift is you passive defensive skill.

Elemental Attunement passive has chance to inflict elemental elements on nearby enemies.

Ice Embermage Build


The Frost Mage! Ice is the main element of this build, freezing enemies that slows movement, casting, and attack speed.

The build is all about crowd controlling enemies.

Initiate the fight with Hailstorm to damage, stun, or freeze enemies and makes them more susceptible to ice and electric damage. Follow up by casting Thunder Locus and spamming Frost Wave.

Elemental Boon increases your resistance and damage to elements.

Astral Ally creates a duplicate of yourself so that you can deal more elemental spells.

Electric Embermage Build


The Storm Mage! Electric is the main element of this build, shocking enemies then deal damage to other units.

The build is all about finishing off multiple enemies.

Shocking Orb is you main damage dealing skill. Initiate the fight by casting Hailstorm then Thunder Locus.

When low of mana, use low level Prismatic Bolt.

Lightning Brand lets you deal additional damage to shocked enemies.

Charge Mastery makes you powered up often to deal more damage and spam lots of skills. Spamming Shocking Orb is really powerful.

Elemental Attunement passive has chance to inflict elemental effects on nearby enemies.

Prismatic Rift is you passive defensive skill.

Elemental Boon increases your resistance and damage to elements.

All Element Embermage Build


This build deals fire, ice, lightning, and poison damage on enemies. Having the ability to deal multiple elements solves your problem regarding different enemy resistance.

The builds main damaging skill is Prismatic Bolt which deals fire, ice, electric, and poison damage with chance to inflict poison, shocked, freeze, and burn.

Elemental Boon increases your resistance and damage to elements.

Elemental Attunement passive has chance to inflict elemental effects on nearby enemies.

Inflict additional damage with Fire Brand, Ice Brand, and Lightning Brand.

Charge Mastery makes you powered up often to deal more damage and spam lots of Prismatic Bolt.
