Wow! , Kids Can Personalize Their Own Leaptop Kids Computer!

Updated on August 16, 2015

Mia Feels Like A Grownup With Her Leaptop!

I bought the Leaptop for my 3 year old granddaughter for this past Christmas, and she loves it. Especially after I customized it for her. She gets a kick out of it, when she turns it on and it says "Hi Mia" The Leaptop is a wonderful learning tool for children ages 2 & up. It teaches Mia about animals and abc's . There is a blog by Violet, and personalized emails, which are read to you by Violet. You can even have a customized playlist of music that your child can choose the songs that they like. Mia, Bre and I have fun sing alongs with the songs I downloaded for her. All the music and sounds are very clear and cheerful! There are two sound levels.

Leaptop Information

** For ages 2 and up

** Violet is a cute purple puppy, and she will be the child's host

** You can personalize the leaptop with music and emails. However these are a bit limited, but good for the little ones.

** There are six learning activities, which include animals , alphabet, music, pretend play.

** There are two volume settings. Medium and high. Plus the on/ off button.

** There are lots of coloring pages that can be printed out for kids to color. They are really cute! You will find Violet with her friend Scout!

** You will need to connect online and set up an account to customize the Leaptop, and it comes with it's own USB cord. Though it is quite short, as you can see in the video above.

** The Leaptop requires 3 AA batteries , and has a carry along handle, so it makes it easy to grab and go! Just like a purse.

To get started with the customization you will have to go to the leapfrog site and register an account. Then there is the download process . I ran into a bit of trouble here as I was using Avast Antivirus, which I had to disable for a bit to set the whole thing up. after that just follow all the instructions. It does take a bit of time and a process to get through it all, but it will be worth it. I do however wish they offered more free stuff. You will find many promotional items to buy, and they will send you emails updating new stuff, now and then.

Overall this is a really cute and fun toy, and will amuse children for a good amount of time, not to mention they will be learning so much! Mia has a ball with hers, and even her little sister is loving it, even though she only gets to look on, but I am sure she is learning as well! The best part is though , that it can be personalized for your child! Also I think it would be nice if it came with a port for an earpiece, so that the child could play with it at lenght, without everyone having to hear it, over and over again, lol. The leaptop is a definate toy to have, what with all the technology that we have today, kids need to get started early, and this is coming from someone that was born in 1959, and has grown up through the years with technology changing everyday. So for around $20, it is a nice toy to buy for your child!
