Massively Multiplayer Action Arenas

Agar.io and Slither.io are free massively multiplayer action games (MMAG) that cab be played on mobile devices and computers. Classified as crossover browser / app games, both games allow players to battle each other in large, multiplayer arenas.

These games seem very similar, but each developer used a drastically different approach when creating their PvP battlefields.

Agar.io allows customization within accounts, account level, purchases from an in-game store. If you enjoy playing a game that allows you to advance by leveling up, then this is your game.

Slither.io lacks an in-game store, but allows players to pay a small fee to play ad free. You can use a variety of skins to spruce up your worm, and locate an endless amount of mods. If you feel game play is fast paced? and with new challenges, then this is your game.

What's the point of the game? Well, to gobble each other up, of course! Survival of the fittest is the name of the game.

The answer to which game is better depends on player preference and personal point of view. Would you rather play a game where you can level up, or a game where pure skill is the decider? Are you willing to invest a little money for a personal experience, or do you prefer a playing field where everyone starts out on the same level?

Keep reading to find out which of these addictive apps is best for you.

Total User Downloads

At the time this article was written both Aagar.io and Sither.io scored a 4.2 on the Google Play Store. Likewise, other platforms seem to rank these games pretty evenly. The one big difference on Google Play Slither.io has 100 million downloads, but Agar.io only has 50 million. This is, of course subject to change, but if you were to ask Google Play, then Slither.io is the better game.

Both games give players the ability to play on a computer (in a browser) or smartphones and tablets (both IOS and Android).

If being a super adorable worm is your thing, then you will love Slither.io. If you dig the idea of being a super lethal bacteria in a petri dish, the Agar.io wil be your cup of tea.

*Warning: The action in both games can get down right brutal*
