I was a newspaper reporter--so you can probably guess my answer.
I like a newspaper. I like having a page of comics, an editorial page and the news pages. I like the ads at the bottom of the page, with nothing popping up at me.
My eyes get tired, so I do not read a lot of books. My wife always has a book with her. The last gift I would ever by for her would be a Kindle or similar device. There is an old made for TV movie call 84 Charring Cross Road about a female writer who buys rare books from an English book store. She talks about the feel of the paper, how the book is bound, the note a previous owner wrote inside. She gives each book its own personality. I have a collection of books, mostly collections of short stories, that I read from time to time. Computers are great and i get a lot of information from them, but the printed word is hard to beat.
