Very recently I've been burnt out playing video games, but when it's what you do as part of your living that's an unfortunate downside. Then again, gamers who play less for whatever reason won't likely be as quickly burnt out as myself, because they can spread their game time accordingly and get the most for their money.
Just out of curiosity, but what games have you been playing recently? How much time do you spend playing them? What machine do you play them on? These are a few questions that may help me understand why, as there's many reasons - you play too much, or your system hasn't got enough games coming regularly, or in my case you've been playing mediocre tripe the whole year and are tired.
I would strongly recommend taking a break and getting your head into some great books and television. It only takes a few days for me to welcome even the most painfully average of games into my life and get reviewing them. If you need your video game fix though, get back into older ones and maybe do something with them - collect and/or review them would be my suggestion, as that often helps my burn out. ^^
