Assassin's Creed Rogue Shay Walkthrough Storyline

Updated on December 30, 2014

In Assassin's Creed Rogue, Shay turns from assassin to templar. This iconic storyline will be chronicled and emphasizes how the creed does not dictate the man.

"Question the Creed"

Shay starts off as a good hearted man full of spirits. Never the sort of person to join a millennium old conflict between two factions ie the templars and the assassins. Circumstances will change the man and sway his loyalties from one faction to the next. But never his conscience, at least to the point where duty supersedes and buries his conscience.

And so it begins with Shay playing assassin with Liam, his good friend and comrade in the Brotherhood. This will guide the anti hero on how to complete the assassination storyline walkthrough of Assassin's Creed Rogue, and how it provides a continuity with Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity.

Shay is asked repeatedly to assassinate what the Brotherhood believes to be rotten people, but whom Shay believes to be good people, at least from his observations. It began with assassination target zero, the sick man Lawrence Washington.

And then the problem escalates into a city wide problem, as Shay is asked to get inside the precursor temple, to get the precursor artifact, in Lisbon.

The temple collapses with the removal of the precursor artifact, along with Lisbon. Shay barely escapes with his life. Millions of lives were lost that day.

Shay confronts Achilles, and then infiltrates the Davenport Manor to get the manuscript - the source of the evil of the precursors. He is discovered and chased by the assassins to the cliff, where the infamous shot and fall happens.

  • The Animus system confirms Shay's survival and his return years later as a templar hunter of assassins.

1. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat le Chasseur

Shay is rescued by George Monro, a templar. Shay is later asked to assault Fort la Croix, where he confronts his first assassination target - le Chasseur. If you are having trouble defeating le Chasseur, run circles around him, release 1 or 2 smoke bomb, and then assassinate le Chasseur.

2. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat Kesegowaase

After missions after missions with the good colonel, Shay finally gets to return the favour by saving Monro at Fort Albany. He sends Monro and the manuscript off to the Morrigan, and faces off against the assassin Kesegowaase.

Kesegowaase is hard to beat. Go up the stairs and then chase him. There are two ways to stop Kesegowaase. You can either run into him and distract him from finishing off the British Casualties bar. Then go to his back and assassinate him.

or, Shay can run ahead of Kesegowaase and get to the pickle gun. Next, wait for the man to come forwards, and finish him off with a good shot.

After this, Shay meets the Grandmaster of the Templar Order, none other than Haytham Kenway.

3. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat Adewale

Next up, an Assassin's Creed Black Flag legend - Adewale. Adewale was, of course, the first mate of Captain Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway. One day we will learn the story of how the son of the legendary pirate and assassin Edward Kenway, became a templar.

First, we recap the adventures of Adewale with his attack on the templar fleet as a young man, and later his assassination on the grandmaster of slavery.

For now, we are contend to learn that Shay has been instructed by the grandmaster Haytham to locate Adewale's ship after a massive battle with the French fleet.

Shay and Haytham chase the now veteran Adewale to a fort, where the reborn and quite powerful templar assassin literally bloodbaths his way through the assassins and cover assassinate Adewale.

  • Get the 'One Legend Dies Another One is Born Legend' achievement.

The death of Adewale confirms the decline of both the moral values of the Assassins of this era, and their overall physicality.

Hope Christmas Wish

It would be wonderful to play Hope Jensen in a dlc, and utilise her poison mist ability.

4. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat Hope Jensen

Shay Patrick Cormac is a full fledged assassin templar now, and not even his former mentor and misguided damsel Hope Jensen, can dissuade him from his duties as a templar.

  • Shay hunts Hope down to her mansion. Here, Shay witness her handing over the precursor locators to Liam. Then she spots the rogue assassins and attempts to kill him slowly, by poison mist.

Shay perseveres through the poison mist and hunts her down.

5. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat de la Velendrye

Shay battles his way through de la Velendrye something's man o war. An upgraded Morrigan wins after a titanic battle

6. Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat Liam

Finally, it comes down to the battle of good friends. What else can it be? Nobody feuds like family, followed by friends.

  • Shay and Haytham then chase the remaining elite assassins Shay and Achilles to the Far North in the North Atlantic.

Shay executes his friend Liam after a chase. Liam claims Shay is just lucky with his dying words. Shay replies,

  • "I make my own luck."

Shay heads outside, just enough time to prevent the death of another assassin. Apparently, Shay has had enough of these killings.

Thus Achilles was spared and ends up with a bad leg. This is a bad thing, for what goes around comes around.

Assassin's Creed 3 Flashback (or is it flashforward?) - A Boorish Man Returns

For now, the Brotherhood of this era collapses.

  • Shay asks Haytham, "What happens now?"

7 Assassin's Creed Rogue Defeat Dorian

Shay's chase of the precursor finally takes him to Paris...... 20 years later. An aged but still agile Shay finally meets the next gen assassin and templar couple - Arno Dorian and Elise de la Serre.

Then he carries out the final assassination in Assassin's Creed Rogue, to get the precursor box.

Shay's final words about the Creed, his own Creed -

"Uphold the principles of our Order, and all that for which we stand. Never share our secrets. Or divulge the true nature of our work. Do so, and take death, whatever the costs. This is my new Creed. I am Shay Patrick Cormac, templar........

........May the Father of Understanding guide us all."
