We love board games in my house at Christmas, there is always banter, cheating and laughing. Our favorite old ones are Scattegories, Tension and Buccaneer. It's something we look forward to every year.

We've been trying to play more board games at my house instead of spending evenings watching TV. I love Apples to Apples for a group (especially if your friends have good senses of humor).

I do really love board games, I just have a hard time getting any of my family to play them with me. :( Well, the grandkids will play CandyLand but it just isn't the same!

You've selected a good variety, here -- and several I hadn't heard of. I didn't know Monopoly had so many variations. And, you make a good point about sitting down to board games with real human companionship. After a day at the computer, the tactile experience of a board game is quite welcomed!

I've always loved them, monopoly and all the classics, but the newer word games are lots of fun.
