Best Baby Sleep Product - Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse

Updated on August 12, 2014

The Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse is one of my favorite baby products. It is my go to gift for new babies gifts and baby shower gifts because it has worked so well for my family. I am a believer that it is preferable to put a baby to bed while sleepy though still awake. This is because it helps babies to learn how to self soothe. If you hold them until they fall asleep or rock them to sleep they don't develop that skill as readily. This can create problems down the road trying to get the baby or later toddler to go to sleep on their own. This Seahorse has really assisted both my daughter and son to go down without a fight as babies. It helped them to soothe themselves and I think it has been a large part of why my kids have both been good sleepers from an early age. The music is soft and soothing along with a light so the baby is not scared when you leave. It seems to captivate them but then it gradually turns off after a few minutes. This happens in such a way that seems to lull them to sleep and it isn't jarring when it turns off. This is a must have baby item that I highly recommend.

The Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse comes in a choice of blue or pink. While either is a cute option I prefer the blue simply because it can be appropriate for a boy or girl. I bought the blue for my first born daughter and was later able to pass it on to my second born son. It is now being used by my third child, also a boy. It's been nice to not have to buy new ones for each child. It's been long lasting and has held up exceptionally well. It looks almost new even though it has received lots of love the past 5 years.

It's too late for my grandson now! He is already 14 months old, but will buy this for our grandnephews/grandnieces (2 on the way)!! Thanks for sharing your experience and to know that it is hardy and lasting, is very comforting.
