Skylanders Giants Best PS3 RPG Game for 7 Year Old Boys

Updated on October 31, 2013

My son is very addicted in playing PS3 RPG games. I don't restrict him from playing after going to school and doing his assignments, but my problem starts when I notice that he was playing several games intended for 16 years old and above. He didn't find any difficulty in playing those games but I find them a little bit disturbing for his age. Actually, we have those games because my husband used to play them.

As I look for a more child friendly game on PS3, I discover Skylanders Giants. So we bought the starter pack and some additional characters. My son loves the idea of seeing his character brought back to life. Whichever character he will place in the portal, that would be his in-game character.

Convincing him to shift from his previous games is not very easy. I just let him play and play Skylanders and when he is about to play other games, I will ask him about anything and invite him to go for a walk outside just to divert his attention.

After several weeks, he's no longer playing his old games and I find him constantly happy and excited about Skylanders Giants. He's always telling me about his new items, about the stars he gain and everything new he discovered in playing the Skylanders Giants.

Actually while I was writing this review, he is talking to me about the new gold top hat he acquired. And of course, I tell him how excellent it looks like on his character.

I am so happy I discover Skylanders Giants. The price of each character is just right. It's almost the same when you buy small toys for boys.

I think the game story is very long for a 7 year old boy because he started to play that 4 months ago and he is still very excited and I always find his in-game character wearing different items.

I really recommend this game for mom's like me who's looking for a way to stop their small sons from playing violent RPG games in PS3.

He is my son, Mervin with his favorite Skylanders Giants figures. In this picture, he is holding Swarm, the newest in his collection, but his most favorite character is Tree Rex.

These characters are very hard to find. We already have Tree Rex, Bouncer, Crusher, Hot Head and Swarm. Only these three are left to complete our collection of Giants. He knows, we don't have these characters because it is not listed on his character checklist. I am planning to buy these on Amazon because it is not available anywhere, not even in Toy's R us and Virgin Store.

She floats. She is the fastest character in Skylanders Giants. All Giants use their strength to lift objects except Ninjini who uses telekinesis.

He is a water element. He has a pirate accent which sounds really cool! He is the biggest Skylanders Giant.

Skylanders Giants: Eye Brawl Giant Character

Eye Brawl's eye is his great weapon. It can shoot lasers to his enemy.
