Candy Crush Saga Combos

Updated on October 8, 2015

Candy Crush Combos, and when to use them!

Candy Crush Saga is an addictive game on facebook made by King. The combo system is very fun, and worth mastering, if you want to get 3 stars on all your levels and beat your friends' scores.

Become the master of each stage and earn 3 stars on each board.

Candy Crush Saga is similar to Bejeweled 2, but everything is kicked up a notch. The combo/specials system is improved. More power-ups, different types of stages.

All pictures are screenshots of King's Candy Crush Saga on Facebook.

Striped Candy

4 in a row

The striped candy is made by matching 4 of any type of candy in a row, horizontally or vertically.

Striped candy is really useful for levels where you have to bring all the ingredients down. A well placed striped candy can clear an entire row, and allow your ingredient to clear the bottom right away.

Clearing out horizontal rows of frosting or jelly is also a really great use for striped candy. They are little harder to get placed properly, which is why the wrapped candy might be a better choice for clearing out frosting and jelly.

Striped Candy + Striped Candy = 1 Horizontal and Vertical line cleared

Striped Candy + Wrapped Candy = 8 Surrounding candies are absorbed into a large Striped candy, which clears a large swathe of candy horizontally and vertically

Striped Candy + Color Bomb = All candies of the same type of the striped candy turn into striped candies and are activated, clearing horizontally or vertical lines of candy.

How to tell whether a striped candy will clear a row or a column

Look at the striped candy.

If the candy is striped vertically (up and down) then it will clear a column.

If the candy is striped horizontally (side to side) then it will clear a row.

Match 5 candy, but not in a row

Making a wrapped candy piece is achieved by matching 5 pieces of candy, but not in a row. Three down and three across. You do this by swapping the common piece between both rows. Think of a T shape or an L shape.

Wrapped candies are really great for digging down through frosting.

Wrapped Candy + Wrapped Candy = 2 large detonations. Like matching a wrapped candy, but larger.

Wrapped Candy + Color Bomb = all candies that match the Wrapped candy color turn into Wrapped candies, then detonate.

Color Bomb

Color bombs are made by making a line of 5 candies.

Color bombs are really great. To activate one, simply swap it with any other candy. The type of candy you create will be removed from the board, making matches much easier.

There isn't really any situation where color bombs aren't desirable.

Color Bomb + Color Bomb = entire board cleared

Watch all the combos in action!

FYI: I realize that you can make combos with the coconut wheel, jellyfish. I haven't, and I don't feel comfortable taking someone else's work.

Sweet! Divine! - Please leave me a comment.
