Cards Against Humanity: First Expansion
Cards Against Humanity: First Expansion

Cards Against Humanity continues with first expansion pack.

Cards Against Humanity Online

Cards Against Humanity can only be purchased online. The sellers at Cards against Humanity (at least for now) are exclusively using Amazon as a distribution vehicle. If you visit the CAH website to buy a set of cards you will be directed back to Amazon to make your online purchase.

eBay is another online venue that has been inundated with sellers jumping on the cards Against Humanity band wagon. However, I wouldn't get overly excited about the eBay opportunities. Although it's an auction format and you've come to expect deals there, the price of the CAH card sets on eBay are, generally, artificially high due to shortages in the market. See: Cards against Humanity Arbitrage.

FYI, there is another type of Cards Against Humanity eBay seller, and those are the ones that are downloading the free PDF and making their own reprints. I'm not sure how it falls in to the Creative Commons Use Licensing, but some of them are actually making a very high quality product. Before buying any of the counterfeits from one of these online printers make certain the cards are identical to the originals, in case you want to commingle your sets.

Unless a time comes when the Cards Against Humanity people decide to sell to brick and mortar businesses, online is the only place to get your sets of cards.

So unless someone is gifting a set to you, these would be your choices: You can do the PDF download of the original starter set for free, you can purchase a set on Amazon, you can go to the CAH website and be directed back to Amazon, or you can go to eBay and pay a little extra (unless the market has changed).

"Warning"- If you do not understand, or just can't stomach the inglorious dark side of politically incorrect and significantly debasing humor then - "This is not the game for you".

Not everyone gets the humor in this game, and in the the old days, if you didn't see the joke. we would have simply said something like; "Take the stick out of your butt". Unfortunately we now live in an age where political correctness seems to trump, common sense, let alone good humor, so with that in mind - Even if you don't like this game, no mention of taking a stick out of your butt will be made. In fact in the spirit of political correctness; - "Enjoy having that stick right where it is".

As if the first expansion pack wasn't enough. Next came the Cards Against Humanity second expansion pack.

Pretend Your'e Xyzzy

Play Cards against Humanity Online

While someone has put quite a bit of effort into developing an online way to play Cards Against Humanity (Pretend You're Xyzzy), there is still no official easy to use application available. It could have something to do with the fact that although the original cards against humanity game is allowed to be copied under a non-commercial common use license, the same freedoms are not given to the the expansion packs. Which leaves us wondering if anyone really wants to invest in designing an app around someone else's brand if they cannot monetize it?

The word on the street is something "Big" is coming between GiantBomb.com and Cards Against Humanity. GiantBomb is an online gaming review site and forum that caters predominantly to online gamers. Could it be a real online application to play CAH is on the way? One can only hope.

Up to now the Cards Against Humanity group has been very creative in how they market this game and although the speculation regarding the collaboration between CAH and GiantBomb is that they are going to develop an online gaming platform for Cards Against Humanity, it could very well be something less "Big" is coming. Another possibility is that the GiantBomb people are going to devote a page or a forum section to the Cards Against Humanity card game.

Further research provides us with this answer; GiantBomb and Cards Against Humanity are developing a new expansion pack together. But, is there something else afoot? Does Cards Against Humanity really need GiantBomb for this project? It still has the appearance that they are working towards a bigger goal. Maybe we'll get that Cards Against Humanity Online Application after all.

March of "2013" brought all kinds of surprises, including the third expansion pack.
