Great Gifts for Kids for $10 and Less
"Inexpensive" does not have to mean "cheap"
Like many other people, I need to carefully budget my money. When it comes to buying gifts, I keep things very simple and inexpensive.
Although I do not have much money to spend on children's gifts, I also do not want to give a child a gift that is "cheap" - one that will quickly fall apart or that isn't interesting or useful to them.
A gift should not be a piece of junk purchased simply because you can't afford something "really nice."
What follows are suggestions for good, quality gifts for kids that cost $10 or less.
What Are Good Gifts?
To me, a good gift is one that the kids will play with and that stimulates their imagination or intellect.
I do my best to avoid toys and games that have batteries, promote media-saturated characters, take up a lot of space, are destined to break quickly, or are otherwise annoying. If I want to promote quality toys in my own home, I certainly do not want to clutter up others' homes with junky toys that are clearly purchased on the basis of their low price tags.
Yes, I suppose that "cheap toys" have their place in children's lives. But for a gift, I want my present to stand out as being something that is of value, that the kids will enjoy, and that won't annoy the parents. And I want to do this while spending a minimal amount of money!
