Gifts for Writers

Gifts for Writers

Writers are easy people to buy gifts for, whether it's writing gifts for Christmas or writing presents for any other time of year. There's books, journals, software for writers, writing guides, and much much more that would all make fantastic and welcome gifts for us.

So this lens is kind of my indulgence - a list of creative and inspiring things that I would be delighted to receive as a writer, things I have received, and some items that are just too good to leave out.

If they make one writer happy, they might just make a lot of other ones happy too, whatever the occasion may be.

So if you know a writer, browse the suggestions below and find the perfect creative gifts for writers right here and right now. And if you're a writer, well, you might find some good hints to drop the next time someone asks you what you want!

You can also check out my other lenses on writing - Online Freelance Writing Jobs and Online Content Copywriting Jobs - you're guaranteed to be better off for doing so! Thanks for visiting.

What would my favourite writer gift be?

It would have to be notebooks - notebooks of all kinds. I love the hardback ones that look like proper books though. These are great to keep and refer back to in the future because they don't fall apart easily. They can also be ideal for working on writing projects you know you'll be doing for a while too.

I got a Squidoo notebook for Christmas last year and I've used it to jot down all kinds of ideas, suggestions and 'must do things' for my Squidoo lenses! It's ideal for the job and I'm glad I got it. It was an unusual but much loved gift.

The Elements of Style (4th Edition)
The Elements of Style (4th Edition)

I'd been meaning to buy this for myself for ages, and when I finally did I wasn't disappointed. It's a thin volume but there's absolutely no waffle in it. Concise, to the point and relevant, it's definitely a book to keep on your writing desk at all times. Excellent value.

I'm going to print this out and save it and when my husband asks me yet again what I want for Christmas I'm going to give it to him to read. Nice work.
