A Synopsis of The New 52 "0" Month
How DC Unveils The Event
According to The Source, DC's official blog, the objective of "0" Month is to label every comic book released as issue #0. Each title will, during these 30 days, ignore whatever stories they have running and provide introductory tales, origins, and information designed to "fill in the gaps". After September is over, the titles will resume their stories.
The Truth: DC Comics had a strong reaction to their New 52 event a year prior; many if not all of their titles went to a second printing. Sensing a possible gold mine of sales, they are attempting to see if the can duplicate the reaction. This won't be their second try, though; they already had second with their Second Wave earlier in the year.
Official Announcement: DC Comics announced "0" Month on May 8th, 2012.

The 4 New Titles for The DC New 52 "0" Month
Sword of Sorcerry, Team Seven, Talon, and The Phantom Stranger
DC Comics has announced four new titles with the upcoming "0" Month event. They'll also be starting with issue #0 and be origin stories. They are:
Sword of Sorcery #0
Story: Christy Marx
Penciler: Aaron Lopresti.
Set in a world of fantasy, the main character is Amy Winston, hidden from her true past, also known as "Amethyst". Her original story first appeared in Legion of Super-Heroes #298 (1983), where she was revealed to be the last true princess of Gemworld. Now, though, her mother leads her to earth, away from the treacherous rulership of "Dark Opal" and a hunt to destroy her. A second story has also been added; it will feature Beowulf as the main character in his battles with the mythological Grendel.
Story: Scott Snyder and James Tynion
Penciler: Guillm March
From the pages of The Night of The Owls, a powerful event evolving around Batman, we are going to meet the next generation of metahuman. Calvin Rose is one of the last of The Talons, a powerful assassin with regenerative ability and superior fighting talents. Somehow he's survived The Court of Owls and is now attempting to escape their clutch. It won't be so easy, though, The Court will never allow him to get away.
Story: Justin Jordan
Penciler: Jesus Merino
Team Seven is the response force formed after the world of DC becomes infiltrated with superheroes and strange aliens. Earth is no longer a place of isolation; it's part of a greater universe. Led by Amanda Waller, she gathers a group with Dinah Lance (The Black Canary), Cole Cash (The Grifter), Slade Wilson (Deathstroke), Steve Trevor, John Lynch, and Alex Fairchild to expose, combat, and contain any threats to the country. In a sense, this can be considered a pre-DC-Universe story that parallels the early origins of the rest of the titles.
The Phantom Stranger
Story: Dan DiDio
Penciler: Brent Anderson.
Since the last moments of Flashpoint there has been a curious eye to The Phantom Stranger and the mysterious woman, Pandora; from an additional appearance in Justice League #6 (2012) we learned there is still a greater story to tell. In this title, all the questions will be addressed, evolving into the Stranger's origin and his relationship to the universe.
DC Zero Concluded Titles - In the month of September, these are the stories that will end.
DC Comics announced the conclusion of the following titles; 3 of the 4 will be ending during "0" Month. They are: Captain Atom, Resurrection Man, and Voodoo. They will end with issue #0. The fourth title, Justice League International is expected to end during the preceding month. They will be making a special appearance, however, during this event.
