DDO Radiant Servant guide

Updated on October 29, 2012

Cleric prestige class.

A very powerful type of priest in the Dungeons and Dragons Online game. These servants can summon up a golden aura of healing almost permanently, restoring lost health every few seconds to group members. Their spells heal people more than anyone else's. In addition, they're extremely powerful against undead. A radiant servant can cause any of these ghastly foes to cower in place or simply banish them back to the Realm of the Dead.

This is a special enhancement line for DDO cleric characters - also called a prestige class. There are specific requirements you'll need to make a radiant servant, see below.

Benefits of being a Radiant Servant

Your DDO character gets much greater healing potential.

This enhancement line gives your cleric:

  • 1 or 2 levels higher with Turn Undead.
  • 1 or 2 levels higher with magic Healing spells.
  • 1 or 2 levels higher with Light based damage spells.
  • Undead are now destroyed instead of frightened.
  • Positive Energy Aura and Bursts (see below).
  • Turn Undead uses regenerate every 2 minutes.
  • Empower Healing boosts spell power effectiveness by an additional 25%.

Positive Energy Aura

Long-term health regeneration around the Radiant Servant.

This ability is enhanced by some of DDO's metamagic feats, but not extend. It can critical hit with the enhancement lines. You'll be able to keep the golden bubbles on for a very long time if you started your radiant servant with a high charisma.

Granted with Radiant Servant II.

Expend a use of turn undead to create a positive energy aura effect on yourself, which envelops the caster in an aura of healing, positive energy, and affects a number of targets equal to caster level. Allies within the aura are healed 1 hit point per 3 caster Levels as long as they remain within it and Undead enemies are damaged for the same amount.

Positive Energy Burst

Medium heal to everyone around you.

Granted with Radiant Servant I.

There is a tiny window of time between when your radiant servant clicks on this ability and when the burst triggers. This allows people to gather around you quickly if you have voice chat. Players who move away from your DDO character instead will not get touched by the burst heal.

Expend a use of turn undead to create a positive energy aura effect on yourself, which envelops the caster in an aura of healing, positive energy, and affects a number of targets equal to caster level. Allies within the aura are healed 1d8 hit point plus 1 per caster Level as long as they remain within it and Undead enemies are damaged for the same amount.

Do you think the burst effect is useful?

My own experiences

I played as a 12 Bard, 7 Cleric just for fun. I took the cleric levels from 2 to 8, and this ability was simply amazing. It made the Necropolis dungeons a total cakewalk, even on elite. Deleras and Shadow Crypt? Hah, who needs firewall. Don't underestimate this ability. It's fantastic at destroying undead, and gives you a large amount of extra healing abilities too. Whenever I had negative levels... which is sadly pretty often... the bursts got rid of them very quickly.

Cleric Radiant Servant requirements

What you will need.

You'll need to take the "Cleric Chasima", "Cleric Heal", and "Cleric Life Magic." enhancement lines to qualify for Radiant Servant.

The first level requires the Empower Healing feat. You'll also need to put at least one point into any of the "Divine Cleaning", "Divine Healing", "Divine Light", "Divine Might", or "Divine Vitality" enhancement lines on your DDO character.

The second requires your choice of Faith (Bladesworn Transformation, Silver Flame Exorcism, Undying Call, Unyielding Sovereignty, Vulkoor's Avatar) or "Cleric Charisma II".

What do you think of the Radiant Servant cleric class?

Anything I should add to this DDO guide about it?
