What Do Your Children Think Of Dr Seuss Books? Let Us Know Here
Do your children love Dr Seuss stories?
The Cat In The Hat - Funny Tricks, Mischief And Naughty "Things"
The Cat in the Hat is almost certainly the most recognizable of Dr Seuss's creations and definitely one of the ones who is most fun to read about. I have to confess to being a bit worried about the behavior of the Cat and Thing One and Thing Two while the mother of the two children is out of the house. However, the silly tricks that he performs and the games that the Things play make them some of the most loved Dr Seuss characters by children and adults alike.
The Cat in the Hat also appears in a second book, entitled: The Cat in the Hat Comes Back.
The following Dr Seuss Plush Toys are all based on characters that appear in the story "The Cat in the Hat".
Here he is, your own Cat in the Hat plush toy for kids who love this classic Dr Seuss story of tricks, fun, mischief and mayhem.
The Cat is a very popular character and this medium-sized plush toy is just the right size for children to hug and relive their favorite moments from this silly and naughty cat.
There are other sizes of this plush toy available but I prefer this medium-sized version which is big enough to be a nice feature in a child's room but not too big to hug.
Thing One and Thing Two are the naughty little imps that accompany the Cat in the Hat. These plush toys capture perfectly the mischievous faces of the "Things" and young fans of The Cat in the Hat will have fun playing with these Thing1 Thing 2 toys.
This soft toy is the fish from the story who warns the children against joining the Cat's antics. His persistent nagging doubts about the Cat in the Hat are a lovable feature of the story and this Dr Seuss soft toy is an ideal gift for those who love the book and all the characters.
The Sneetches - Tolerance Of Others Is Taught By Dr Seuss
Two clans of strange creatures have created a huge social divide within their society but the only way that the poor can be differentiated from the elite is the lack of a star upon the belly. These two castes of Sneetches are fooled equally by the populist policy providing Sylvester McMonkey McBean but eventually the Sneetches learn that stars do not matter.
Below you can see a star-belly Sneetch plush toy which can be purchased on Amazon.com.
This soft Star-belly Sneetch with his cute smile is a cuddly companion for children (and maybe adults?) who are big fans of the wonderful Dr Seuss story "The Sneetches". Beware of being too proud of your star belly, though, and if a trickster like Sylvester McMonkey McBean comes your way, it is best to run of to bed with this lovable plush toy rather than engage on star-on, star-off shenanigans.
For those readers who have been truly won over by the silly Sneetches, this plush toy is a great find and makes a perfect gift for Sneetch-lovers of all ages.
This plush toy is one of my favorites on here as I loved the way my father used to read the story, and even my mother wants one - at least I know what I can get her for Christmas.
Horton The Elephant - A Responsible And Helpful Character
Horton the Elephant is one of the few Dr Seuss characters that makes an appearance in more than one book; Horton Hears a Who and Horton Hatches the Egg.
In Horton Hears a Who he takes responsibility for the protection of a society of microscopic people, the Whos, and in Horton Hatches the Egg he takes it upon himself to incubate an abandoned egg and gets a surpise when he sees what emerges.
The following Dr Seuss Plush Toys are all based on characters from the books that feature Horton the Elephant.
This Horton the Elephant plush toy is a cute cuddly with a lovable smile; its face is a very close representation of the illustrations of the character in the books.
This Horton is ready to stand up for justice for Whos or hatch random eggs that need care. This Dr Seuss plush toy is made for those fans who love Horton and his caring actions and it will fit in nicely to any Dr Seuss character collection.
Cuddle up with this fluffy Horton the Elephant plush toy and watch the movie or read the book of "Horton Hears a Who". This is a large plush toy that is very soft and huggable; it is a great gift for Seuss-lovers who are looking for a lovable, squeezable friend at night time - can you really resist those eyes?
How The Grinch Stole Christmas - The Dr's Grumpy Grouch
How The Grinch Stole Christmas has become one of Dr Seuss's most well-known stories. Because of this book's Christmas message it gets rediscovered by old fans and read for the first time by others each year; also the very successful movie, starring Jim Carrey, based on the book has elevated it to even greater popularity.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a similar story of redemption as Dickens's Christmas Carol, but its rhyming text and amusing illustrations make it perfect for children.
The following Dr Seuss Plush Toys are all based on characters from "The Grinch".
If you are a Grinch lover then this plush toy is for you. This green character has the beady eyes you expect to see on him as well as his menacing grin; this plush toy bears a strong resemblance to the version of the Grinch from Dr Seuss's illustrations.
Kids and adults who like this character can hug up to this version in the knowledge that he is not going to steal all the Christmas gifts, indeed, he makes rather a nice gift himself.
In the movie of The Grinch I loved Max the dog. he was the Grinch's long-suffering companion who got dragged into all the silly schemes rather reluctantly. One of the most memorable moments was when he gets an antler strapped to his head to make him look like a reindeer. This toy represents poor old Max in this guise and he makes a really cute companion.
Fox In Socks - Dr Seuss's Tongue-twisting Masterpiece
Fox in Socks is a funny episode of confrontation between the cheerful and cheeky Fox in Socks and the unhappy Mr Knox. As the book progresses the two protagonists try to befuddle each other with more and more complicated tongue-twisters until Mr Knox finally tires of the stupid and annoying game and comes up with a final tongue-twister to end it; "a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in socks, sir!".
When I was a child I used to love getting my parents and grandparents to read this book to me, although I am not sure they shared my enthusiasm!
The following Dr Seuss Plush Toy is based on the character "Fox in Socks".

This zany character (I think it is a "Beft") from Oh The Thinks You Can Think is a reminder of the surreal creatures that inhabit Dr Seuss books and stimulate kids' "thinking". This Dr Seuss plush really captures the essence of Seuss books and is a great toy for Seuss-loving kids and adults alike.
Yertle The Turtle Plush Toy
Dr Seuss's foolish monarch
Yertle The Turtle is perhaps Dr Seuss's most politically subversive book in which King Yertle expands his empire by standing on top of a stack of underlings until one of them burps.
The following Dr Seuss plush toy is based on "Yertle The Turtle".
After foolish King Yertle fell into the mud after surveying his enlarged kingdom from the back of other lowly turtles he is in need of some love.
