Introducing Doctor Who Yahtzee

Yahtzee! How the memories come flooding back when I hear the name of one of my favorite games from my youth. We had hours of fun playing the game as a family and in recent years my partner and I have both enjoyed revisiting our youth to play it again.

Now, anyone who knows me will also be aware that I am a massive Doctor Who Fan. So it was no surprise at all to my partner that soon after it became available the Doctor Who Yahtzee Collector's Edition managed to find it's way from Amazon to our home.

Doctor Who Yahtzee Collector's Edition Reviewed

To be honest anyone who is a Doctor Who Fan will want to get their hands on the Doctor Who Yahtzee Collection and if they are a Yahtzee Fan as well - well you had best get ordering now!

This edition of the Yahtzee board game has of course been released to commemorate 50 years of Doctor Who. The game really does a great job or bringing Yahtzee and Doctor Who together for a truly fun and, for me at least, a nostalgic game. With a custom dice feature and great illustrations this is definitely a must-have for any Doctor Who or Yahtzee fan.

So What Do You Get With This Board Game?

The Doctor Who Yahtzee Collector's Edition comes with a custom dice and a custom TARDIS shaped dice cup. I absolutely love that the die features classic monsters from Dr Who with the Robot Mummy, The Silence, Weeping Angel, Sontaran, Dalek and Cyberman. Of course to play the game you have to get the various combinations and then (Don't Blink!) ultimate five Weeping Angels for the highest score.

The TARDIS comes with plastic windows with stickers and of course the blue finish. The set also includes a pencil, score pad and instructions. I think I just qualify to play because the manufacturers say that the set is suitable for players ages 8 and up.

The Perfect Doctor Who Gift

I keep making a mistake this year, which of course is the 50th Anniversary of Dr Who. As I have been told a number of times now I keep buying the things that would make perfect gifts for me.

Having said that the Doctor Who Yahtzee Collector's Edition is an awesome gift idea for anyone who loves Doctor Who or indeed Yahtzee! Any board game fan will love this set, especially once they get it out from the box and like me see how fine the details are and how well crafted the pieces are.

The set would be great as a birthday gift or a holiday gift and will blow away the minds of anyone looking for the classic Yahtzee game with its unique twist. Know anyone familiar with Yahtzee but do not know who Doctor Who is? This game is a great game for introducing people to Doctor Who. Even if your friends do not play Yahtzee or are not fans of the game they can still love the set for its great Doctor Who twist.

More Dr Who Games To Enjoy

If you are buying Doctor Who Games for yourself or for a friend then you will of course want to take a look at some of the other games available.

I have selected three of my favorites and they are shown below. If like me you remember "Where's Waldo" then you are going to absolutely love "Doctor Who - Where's The Doctor". No-one can fail to have encountered Monopoly and the dedicated Dr Who Fan is going to love the Doctor Who Edition.

If you want to defend the worlds of the Whovian Universe from some of The Doctor's most dangerous enemies then of course you are going to want to buy Doctor Who The Card Game.

These would all make great gifts for any Doctor Who fan or for you!

Talk about memories flooding back! I remember playing Yatzee in college and we would keep a game going pausing to go to class and then pick right back up. Fun memories. Enjoyed reading about the Dr. Who edition.

I have not played Yahtzee for quite some time, but this sounds like a very fun way to enjoy Dr. Who. Will add this to my daughter's wish list. She is a big Dr. Who fan.

Embarrassed to admit this, but I have never actually watched the famous and beloved Dr. Who series, just a few snippets over the years.I know about the Tardis, not much else. I am able to stream the entire set of seasons on my Roku at will now, so I will be bingeing this winter to educate myself ... I do love to play Yahtzee but it's been years. Need to add some new games like this to the family entertainment cupboard.

I have always enjoyed the different variations of yatzee. We are big game people in our house, we have a closet full of them, stacked up as high as you can see. We do not have the Dr. Who version though!
