Find a Toddler Tent: Indoor Toddler Tent

Updated on August 1, 2013

Fun Pretend Play

Toddlers are energetic and active, and they are great at keeping parents on their toes. Ever into mischief, it's challenging to think of ways to keep them occupied, because as soon as you think you have a second to rest, they are off and running again! Sounds challenging? But as a parent, you wouldn't trade these amazing, inquisitive years for anything, though you wouldn't mind a second to catch your breath!

Pretend play is a great way to engage a toddler, and to spur his imagination, and one of the most fun means of doing so is with a toddler tent! A toddler tent can really be as simple as draping a blanket or sheet over the backs of a couple of chairs, and crawling underneath. Have you ever tried reading a story with your toddler under a makeshift tent? It's a must! An indoor toddler tent, likewise, can be a great deal of fun!

While makeshift tents are fun, you may find the colorful or themed play tents available to be just a little more spacious, and attractive. If you are looking for a great activity for your own toddler, a fun birthday gift for a niece or nephew, or just a great way to keep your youngster occupied during inclement weather, then a toddler tent is a great idea!

Pacific Play Tents for Toddlers and Kids

Pacific Play is one of the major producers of play tents for kids. Their selections vary greatly in terms of complexity and design. It can be as simple as a bright, multicolored kid tent, with each panel a different bright color, or it can be as fancy as a safari themed tent, or as a Rose Petal Cottage tent. The tents come in sizes that can work indoors, quite easily, as the one we enjoyed did. On a calm day (no high winds!), these are great on a back patio, or even in the yard, as well. When playtime is finished, stow it away on a closet shelf, or floor, and it's ready for next time!

Interesting color combinations make Pacific Tent designs exciting. Youngsters can enjoy their reading or television time while hiding inside a real tent. Create an indoor campout activity, allowing your youngster to enjoy a special movie and a campout in the living room.

Deluxe Toddler Tents by Pacific Play

If you have more than one toddler, then you will want plenty of space in your toddler tent for toddler antics! With two toddlers, a blanket over chairs doesn't stay together very long! Pacific Play has larger tents, perfect for more than one youngster, and a great way for Mom or Dad to join the tenting fun!

Larger tent designs are especially suitable for families with more than one child. Extra space makes it easier for kiddos to get along and learn social principles of sharing without feeling that their personal space is being eliminated.

Large Toddler Tents

You can't go wrong with a big tent on a hot day. Use it for adding some excitement on a boring and hot summer afternoon. Turn it into a story telling junction, getting it ready for action when the kids are playing outdoors during the cooler morning hours. Turn your tent into an after lunch tradition, stocking it with snacks and a story that lead right into quiet time or crafting opportunities.

This is much like the design we had years ago. It was a blast, and it was so easy to put together and put away. We took it out into the grass on nice days and kept it inside when the Vegas sun was way too hot for outdoor play.

Six sided tents are cool to kids who only visualize the triangular designs. Add on play spaces make it possible to expand over time.

Toddler Tents with Crawl Tunnels

The fun that kids have with crawling through amusement areas at parks, or in the kid zones at fast food restaurants, is amazingly fun. Youngsters never seem to tire of this sort of attraction when you are out and about, and are more than ready to forego their kids' meals, in lieu of the play equipment. Pacific Play captures that same element of fun in the addition of crawl tunnels to tents. You can actually buy crawl tunnels separately, and these alone can be quite enjoyable, but attach it to a toddler tent, and you have hours of entertainment for your little ones!

I remember having a crawl tube when I was little, and it was a great play area. The nice thing was that it was perfect for indoor play during the terrible heat of summer in Southern Nevada. Kids' imaginations are amazing, and my own kids have enjoyed chasing on their hands and knees through such tunnels. It's fun to imagine themselves traveling through real tunnels or moving through time. The fun isn't limited by age, that's for sure!

Toddler Tents and Tunnels

Lots of tunnel options are available, ranging from separate tunnels to complete sets with tunnels and connections included.

Themed tents add fun and characters to the activity. Use a safari tent to read adventure books. Create a rainstorm sound effect with your hands. Use pots and pans to create jungle drumbeats. You can really encourage creative thinking with simple items.

Themed Toddler Tents for Boys

If your little guy has a favorite theme, whether it be firefighting or dinosaurs, there are some fun tents that will suit his interest. Also perfect as pre-schooler tents, you have some great choices for spurring the imagination of your youngster!

Fire Station House TentCHECK AVAILABILITY

Some little boys dream of becoming firefighters. I have a cousin who actually achieved the goal. I was his math teacher once upon a time, and it's exciting to think about the fact that the childhood dream of many kids can become a reality. A firehouse tent is a fun play space for encouraging that kind of imagining.

Many children love stuffed animals, and tigers are lots of fun to look at. Have a stuffed animal sleepover, including the critters in an evening movie and campout night indoors.

Space is a favorite theme of my boys, and they especially love Star Wars. The fun of having multiple tunnel exits can lead to great adventures and explorations.

Dinosaurs are the thrill of many youngsters. My brother was enamored in his days with the big prehistoric critters. A tent like this would have occupied his imagination for months!

Cottages are great but often inconvenient in small homes. A pacific play cottage tent is perfect because it can set up quickly indoors or outside, and it can be put away easily when playtime concludes.

What little girl doesn't love castles? This is a small but cute variation on the concept in a collapsible tent that stores out of the way when not in use.

Tee-Pee play is great for youngsters who love Indian themes, westerns, or just play in general. This is a great choice for teaching about different types of tents, although it may be a far cry from a real tee-pee. It can provide an excellent background for reading and exploring the real look of different Indian habitations.

These are really cool tents for kids. I used to put my bigger tent up in my living room when my grandnephew came to stay overnight. He thought it was so neat. It's a great way to introduce children to real camping.
