Fisher Price Bounce And Spin Zebra

Updated on April 6, 2016

Fisher Price Bounce And Spin Zebra - All That's Missing Is Chris Rockâs Voice

Remember those horses outside candy stores that you'd put a quarter in and they'd bob you up and down for a minute and a half?

They are prehistoric creatures now compared to Fisher Price's Bounce and Spin Zebras.

Add three AAA batteries to this colorful toy and you can guarantee your toddler will have the time of his life, all while learning to balance and strengthen his legs.

On this page we'll look at why this is so much better than what we had as kids.

All About This Spinning And Bouncing Zebra

The Bouce and Spin Zebra is made from sturdy, colorful plastic and has a wide base so there's never any danger of him falling over - as long as you keep boisterous older children off it. This is ideal for toddlers and will keep them amused for hours, until they're just too tall to play on it any more - about 3 years old depending on the child's weight and height of course.

The Zebra plays five fun little songs as your toddler bounces up and down and he spins around a full 360 degrees. Just make sure your toddler hasn't just eaten, or there could be a nasty mess!

This is far superior to a boring old rocking horse because it does so much more. Even the easy grip handlebars contain lights and a spinning ball, so there is lots of auditory and visual stimulation for your little one while he's developing his balance and hand-eye coordination.

The Bounce and Spin Zebra can be locked into position while he's not in use and the On switch and Volume are made especially for adult hands, for safety. He's also low to the ground so most toddlers won't have a problem climbing on and off.

Just use some common sense when children are playing around the Bounce and Spin Zebra. There is no safety harnass so babies should not be perched on it and left unattended, this is for children who can walk reasonably well and therefore have developed some sense of balance. If you have a yoga mat it can be placed underneath to soften any falls.

The Bounce and Spin Zebra won the Hot Toy award from Toys 'R Us in 2006 and it has been improved in the years since. That's why it's still one of the hottest selling Fisher Price toys and gets miles of great feedback from happy parents.

We set the Zebra up in our spare room on Christmas Eve. It has a number of parts that have to be put together and I left my husband to do it, which took about 20 minutes.

On Christmas morning we introduced the Zebra to our little girl (we got her the pink one). She patted his head, kissed him on the nose and climbed on. How do kids know instinctively what to do? Of course his name is Marty like the Zebra in the Disney series. I just wish Chris Rock could have sung all the songs, but I suppose there would have been more chance of her falling off laughing and hurting herself.

And if you're wondering about it's durability. Consider this. My daughter has 3 boys. Three very rowdy boys. She bought this zebra when her first son was a little over a year old. All three have since outgrown this toy. But if she ever decides to have a fourth child, the zebra is still in good enough shape that she could use it again. That right there should tell you something.

Kids love this stuff, I think there is a baby tolerance to spinning.
