Guide to Foosball Tables

Updated on September 23, 2014

The Best Foosball Tables

If you're building a games room, then a foosball table would make the perfect addition. Smaller than a pool table and easy to play, table football is a fast paced game and comes in a variety of sizes and fun designs.

The best game tables provide hours of fun for you and your family, and everyone can play football together without getting hurt. You can invite friends over for friendly competition. All you need is a table, a few bags of chips and some drinks. Then you're all set for your very own Super Bowl.

Foosball tables come in a variety of styles - from plain to extravagant. If you want to save money, a plain table will serve you fine. But some people like the biggest and the best of everything. Does that describe you? Then you'll want a beautiful table. Consider one made of oak or one that has a design painted on it.

Short on space? That's not a problem at all. The tables come in a variety of sizes so they can fit into different sized rooms. A table top foosball table is also an option. Simply sit the game on top of a table that's already in your home. You get your game table without taking up more space.

What is Table Football? - Introduction to Foosball

Foosball is a table-top game that is based on soccer, and is also sometimes called Table Football. These game tables can vary in size, but a typical table is about 120 cm (4 ft) long and 61 cm (2 ft) wide. The table usually contains 8 rows of figures figures mounted on horizontal metal poles. Each side controls 4 rows of figures. By twisting these poles, players can swing the figures forwards and backwards, so that they 'kick' the ball. The aim of the game is to score by kicking the ball into the opposing goal.

This video shows the game being played by two of the world's greatest foosball players:

Featured Game Table

The Playcraft Torino Foosball Table unites the exhilaration of table football with the charm of exceptional design. This stylish soccer table features a European carriage body design and features one or three-player goalie rods for European or American play!

This attractive game table offers angled, solid wood legs for stability, safe telescoping steel rods, nylon brushings for smoother rod movement, ABS high impact players and more!

With superior features and superlative design, the elegant and exciting Torino Foosball Table makes a fine addition to any home game room.

Customer Review: Sweet foosball table!

This is my first foosball table and it is a winner. It is heavy, but well-crafted and should stand up to years of fun. There are some nice details here - especially the bubble levels built onto each side, the "clicking" of the score keepers. The ball return is smooth and overall quality is good.

Overall, it is a stunning table to look at and plays well; court is level and the european-style ramps in the corners make for a more interesting game. The only complaint here is the design of the "players" - boring design and colored either solid black or red. Aside from this, it is a great table!

Luxury Game Table

Blending a classic and stylish design with the latest gaming features, the Burr Oak Foosball Table looks as good as it performs. The sturdy cabinet is covered with 1-inch-thick Burr Oak Melamine, which fits in a variety of decors. The table also includes a colorful 0.375-inch playing surface with enamel screen-printed graphics designed to resist wear over time. The players are even realistic looking, with custom hand-painted bodies and ball control feet.

Playing-wise, the Burr Oak table supports one- or three-goalie play (users decide when setting up the game), with corner ramps to keep the ball from drifting into the corners during one-goalie mode. And thanks to the triple-chrome-plated steel rods and cushioned rubber handles, you'll enjoy precise player control with every pass and shot. Other details include heavy mitre-fold black vinyl legs with leg boots for easy levelling and a high-impact plastic ball return.

Customer Review: Great Buy!

We are very pleased with our new Carrom 750.33 Burr Oak Foosball Table. It is very durable, heavy duty, fairly easy to assemble, and priced right. It does not have any dead spots either. I would recommend this table to anyone interested in buying a middle of the road quality table for family fun.

Yes! Over 30 years ago my husband and I bought one with friends. A professional expensive table. We played almost every night - really got hooked on it - then the kids came along and playing games became less of a priority. Really enjoyed it - would love to get another table.

I used to play with my friends all the time at a pub nearby... until the pub went out of business :( but foosball is still a game I love to play every chance I get. Also, one of those buddies of mine went on to start his own game tables small business, which I am going to shamelessly plug here:http://www.gametablesonline.com/Definitely check it out! He's got some really cool tables there if you're interested.

I've played foosball a lot and it's a great game. There used to be a table where we went on holiday as kids that I dominated. I thought I was the foosball king - then I played someone other than my sisters and I was brought back down to earth.

I never could quite get the hang of foosball. I can manage the piano quite nicely, so it's not the independent operation of the hands that gets me. Not sure what it is. (Nice job. I was just thinking about tackling this subject!)
