Free games to pass the time

Free online games to fight boredom

Have you ever been online and just been bored out of your mind? It happens to me all the time.

That's why I love these free online games. With some, I can spend just a few minutes playing. With others, I can kill a few hours. Some are super hard and make me want to tear my hair out, while others are nice and relaxing.

But all these games do have three things in common. You don't have to download anything. You don't have to pay for anything. And you don't have to sign up for anything.

You may think popping balloons with dart is easy but it's not with this game! It gets harder with each level. You only get a certain number of darts to pop as many balloons as you can. Watch for special balloons that have special powers (like popping all the surrounding balloons). And make sure to use your darts wisely because some will have to go through brick walls to get to the balloons on the other side or bounce off rubber walls at just the right angle to reach the balloons below. Good luck!

Deal or No Deal

Deal or No Deal

If you like the tv show, you'll love this game! Just like in the show, you get to choose the suitcase you want to keep. Then you choose 6 more to open. After opening those, the banker will give you an offer. You can decide whether to take the (virtual) cash or keep opening suitcases. In my last game, the banker's first offer was $40,000. I totally would've taken that in real life!

If you like challenging games, this is the one for you. With Reverse, you have to move your mouse through different mazes. Sound easy right? Not really. Because your mouse moves exactly opposite of where you move it. In this game, if you move your mouse up, it goes down; if you move your mouse left, it goes right. If that still sounds too easy, just wait until you have to dodge flying objects!

Ball on a String

Ball on a String

You might be asking yourself how fun this game could actually be. I mean, it's just a ball on a string and all you have to do is click on the ball. Well, did I mention the ball is hanging off your pointer? Did I also mention the ball and string follow the laws of gravity?

This is sort of like pac-man. You have to draw straight lines to make boxes without being eaten. The only safe area is the dark blue boxes. If you are in the middle of drawing a line and one of the ghosts touches the line, your dead!

Jelly Jumper

This game is actually fun to lose. You have to jump on the lit up keys by using the arrows on your keyboard. But make sure to jump on the "right" lit up keys. A red key kills you instantly. Purple gives you a super bounce. Orange makes you go the opposite direction.

Just for fun, turn up the sound on your computer and jump on the wrong key. The splat noise is just too funny!

Build Flash

Build Flash Online

This is more of a time waster than a game. When you click over, the game starts instantly. If you don't hit one of the original dots, you'll have to reload the page to start over. However, if you do hit a dot, it will bounce back up and hit the top of the screen. Each time a dot hits the top of the screen, it send two or more dots back down. Eventually, you'll have a beautiful shower of colors bouncing up and down.

Vector Tower Defense

Vector Tower Defense

Get ready to mount a defense! You start off with enough money to build just two weapons, but the more enemies you destroy, the more weapons you can build. Eventually, you have your choice of 16 weapons! Your only job is to make sure the enemy doesn't make it to the end of the maze. Word of warning, this game isn't a quickie. My last game lasted close to 3 hours!

Home Sheep Home

Home Sheep Home

How are you at herding sheep? In this game, Shirley, Shawn and Timmy have wandered too far away and you have to herd them home. Some of the obstacles are actually pretty hard, especially considering Shirley weighs a ton and little Timmy just can't jump that high. And poor skin and bones Shawn seems to have to do most of the hard work!
