How to choose games and consoles?

Games change as they evolve, and these changes can make it difficult to choose the right game. Multiplayer modes are sought after, as games become more social. Multiplatform games are also in demand. Cross platform games, where other platforms are needed, such as in Unity 4 that requires PlayStation 4 are winning. Increasingly, games are often made for mobile applications.

Although Xbox and PlayStation consoles have many superior technical advantages, many players use PCs and mobiles. Consoles such as PS3 continue to have fans, and is overall cheaper.

If you want to play with others it is best to buy consoles such as Xbox or PS4. It is worthwhile to consider what attracts you thematically, such as open world games, role playing, puzzle solving or action adventure games.

Games such as Halo, Gears of War, Crackdown or Lost Odyssey can only be played on Xbox. Mario games or Zelda can only be played on Wii. Grand Theft Auto V has been designed for Xbox, but it can also be played on PS3. Grand Theft Auto, Assassin's Creed, and Lara Croft are multiplatform games.

Another criterion of how to pick up a suitable game is whether you prefer console or other type of gaming such as PC gaming, online gaming or mobile gaming.

Gaming and Online Games

Console Gaming vs Online Gaming

Online gaming is increasingly popular, with the most popular online game World of Warcraft attracting millions of registered participants.

The popularity of online gaming inspired its incorporation into console gaming. It is also part of consoles such as Xbox Live created to do just that.

Some console games are available on mobile phones although not in their original version. The Sims, a popular open world game is one such game. Other console games available on mobiles include Call of Duty, Mass Effect, and Grand Theft Auto China Town Wars.

Online gaming differs in the type of experience and the way the game is played from console gaming, and some argue that it is more addictive.

I've never been an online gamer. I used to be a major PC gamer, but my PC is so old, and today's games are so graphics intensive, I just can't deal with the hardware issues. The consoles are just so much easier. Plug and play. Great article!
