Gormiti - The Invincible Lords of Nature

When the range of small plastic figures, known as Gormiti were launched at news-stands in Italy several years ago, no-one could guess the phenomenon that was about to happen. Soon, just about every child in Italy sported a huge collection of Gormiti figures and the following Christmas, Gormiti sales in Italy were in the tens of millions. A UK launch took place, along with launches in other European countries, then in 2009, Gormiti set its sights on the United States market. The original, standard size Gormiti have spawned playsets, giant figures, magnetic figures, tonnes of accessories and now a cartoon series and console games.

So what exactly is it all about? Gormiti - The Invincible Lords of Nature are involved in an epic struggle to take command of the Island of Gorm. Once upon a time, Gorm was a peaceful land, inhabited by Nature Lovers. That was before Magmion, the Lord of Magma appeared, wreaking havoc in his path. He roused the Fire Mountain volcano and obliterated the island and its people.

But the wise Old Sage lived and conjured into life brand new Gormiti tribes from the very elements themselves. The tribes of Earth, Forest, Sea and Air were born. But to face them, Magmion brought forth the Magma and Lava Gormiti tribes from the very heart of Fire Mountain to face them. Which of these tribes will win this epic clash? Who will conquer the Island of Gorm?

So far, there have been seven series of Gormiti figures released in the UK. Each has contained a core range of 6cm figures, plus playsets (some containing exclusive figures). More recent series have also included large figures in various formats. The series are:

Gormiti Series 1

The first series of Gormiti in the UK featured 42 characters split into the six different tribes.

Gormiti Series 2

The second Gormiti series added a further 35 characters into the mix.

Atomic Gormiti

The third series of Gormiti had an added twist - Atomic Gormiti all had an extra 'secret'. Some changed colour in hot water, others in cold, there were Glow in the Dark Gormiti and much more besides.

Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return

Series 4 co-incided with the launch of the Cartoon Series and featured all the regular characters from the show.

Gormiti: Elemental Fusion

Elemental Fusion Gormiti brought us a whole string of fantastic new figures, as well as Pop-Up Card Holders and much more besides.

Gormiti:Supreme Eclipse Era

Series six of Gormiti contains a further 36 characters into the Gormiti Universe - there's six new characters in each of the Earth, Forest, Sea, Air and Volcano tribes plus 3 'People of the Light', headed up by The Supreme Luminous and 3 'People of the Darkness', led by Obscurio. This time around, the figures are sold in multi-packs of 5 and as usual, there are some stunning designs. Another great Gormiti release.

Titanium Gormiti

The seventh series of Gormiti, released for 2011 is Titanium - 35 new figures to collect with new style Trading Cards giving new stats which are activated by heat - fantastic - your character's strength depends on your own temperature. For the first time, the 6cm figures are articulated too.

Gormiti Morphogenesis

Series 8 for 2012 is Morphogenesis - 37 new fully articulated figures, complete with interchangeable parts. Even better - they can be combined to make the mighty Gormiti Gorgolem.
