Harry Potter Games

Updated on October 24, 2013

Can you believe all these games?

The Harry Potter books are probably the biggest global media pheneomenon of recent times, if not the biggest thing ever. The series of seven fantasy novels written by J. K. Rowling has, for the last few years, kept adults and children alike on the edge of their seats wondering what's going to happen next.

It's also created a need for Harry Potter games and paraphernalia. In my family, if a new game comes out and one of my sons friends gets it first, I get "the look". So I have to make sure to stay on top of that.

Which one?

Which did you do?

Listen to the theme song from the Harry Potter soundtrack while you browse the games.

Harry Potter Clue

Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Reverend Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Professor Plum have been replaced by Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna and Neville in this updated version of Clue. Parker Brothers went all out when they designed this game. They included wheels on the board that actually move to reveal secret passages, hidden staircases, and even the Dark Mark.

You don't actually need any knowledge of the movies to play this. You should be okay as long as you have a basic understanding of Clue.

Harry Potter Cards

The Harry Potter Trading Card Game is much easier to understand than most TCG's. You and your opponent are both wizards dueling at Hogwarts. You use the cards in your deck to cast spells and use magic to damage your opponent.

To play, you'll need a starter set. A starter set includes 2 starter decks, a rulebook, and a playmat. After you understand how to play, you can get booster packs and fill your deck with more powerful cards.

Harry Potter Scene It?

How much do you really know about Quidditch and Quaffles, Transfiguration, or the Dark Arts? Test your knowledge with this Scene It? game featuring real clips and contents, questions and puzzlers from all the Harry Potter movies.

No matter how hard I try, when my family plays this game, I lose. I swear my son knows every single scene from every single movie.

Harry Potter 20Q

Can you outsmart the Harry Potter 20Q? Test your knowledge against this golden snitch lookalike. Simply think of something related to people, places, and things from all seven of the Harry Potter books and then give honest answers to 20 questions that the game asks.

Harry Potter Chess

It's chess with a twist! The figures in Harry Potter Wizard Chess are miniature replicas of the life-size figures Harry and Ron battle in the film.

Play checkers on a Marauder's Map playing board with wooden checker pieces based on the Hogwarts houses - white for Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, Red for Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

Or you can go all out and get a huge outdoor chess set. These chess sets are so huge, you actually have to stand on the board to move the pieces. It's a guaranteed fun time for the whole family!

Harry Potter Uno

This Harry Potter Uno deck is pretty much the same as a normal deck, with the exception of these two cards:

  • The Howler Wild card makes the next player shout out every card they have and forfeits their turn.
  • Invisibility Wild card is a protection card that stops any command card played against you.

Warning!: This game can get very loud!

Harry Potter Trivia - Based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

This trivia game covers the second book of the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Play with your friends and see who can answer a Golden Snitch question first to win the game!

I didn't realize how many games had the Harry Potter theme. I just enjoyed the section in Universal studios and the butterbeer. Thanks for all the interesting lenses you have.
