I purchased this book over Thanksgiving and just now got around to reading it. WOW! I wish I had done it sooner! I agree with all of the previous comments. This book is a quick read with much to offer the new crafter in the way of marketing and getting organized.

Taking advantage of the internet is a must for anyone in business these days and Craft Inc. has some wonderful gems to offer in that regard which I am putting to use as I write this. The information is laid out in a non-intimidating way that lets you decide which methods are going to be best for you.

I am inspired by the interviews with successful crafters of various mediums and how they got their start!

If you are thinking about taking your hobby to the next level, this is a good place to begin your journey and you will not be sorry you purchased this book.

Sew Fast Sew Easy: All You Need to Know When You Start to Sew

So many people dream of creating their own style, doing some simple repairs, or making a few accessories. This book is for all of these people, and teaches everyone how easy sewing can be.Sew Fast Sew Easy includes: Patterns and instructions for a simple envelope pillow, a fashionable skirt, and a hip tote bag Tips on creating your sewing survival kitwhich tools are needed and why Hints on how to buy and use a commercial pattern Understanding fabric personalitybuying the right fabric for a project Complete glossary of terms How to overcome fear of sewing machines Rules of cutting and hand-finishing.

Sew Fast Sew Easy: All You Need to Know When You Start to Sew

My mom recently bought me a sewing machine as a gift, and I had no clue how to use it. I leafed through a lot of sewing books trying to decide which one to buy; most of them were much thicker than this one, and filled with advanced techniques that I wasn't ready for. This book actually takes you through the process of threading the machine, explains basics about fabric, tools, taking body measurements and gives you a list of essentials to buy for your sewing kit.

The best part for me was that it's goal-oriented. SFSE comes with 3 patterns for a pillow cover, tote bag and skirt. Each project has step-by-step directions and great diagrams. The projects get more difficult as you go, so you learn more and more with each project.

If you want a sewing book that will actually teach you how to sew (vs. a reference manual) this is the one. This would also make a great gift--the book design is really cute!

Hobby Kits are Great for Learning New Hobbies

Numerous different hobbies feature kits that could aid a novice to learn about the hobby promptly and easily. It is not easy to teach yourself numerous hobbies, but with a hobby kit, you are able to learn from the kit.

For example, if you have been desiring to pick up how to do a needlework, such as cross stitch or crewel embroidery, there is no more beneficial way to start than with a kit. In a hobby kit, you'll get a bit of fabric with the pattern already stamped on, yarn or floss in the right colors and perhaps already cut to the right lengths, and a needle. You could even get an embroidery hoop in the kit. When you purchase a hobby kit, be certain to read on the box to determine if any additional materials or tools will be called for to do the hobby.

I sew, knit, and do needlepoint, but my favorite hobby is collecting coins. It doesn't take any special equipment and you can learn as much or as little as you want

Lol! That's hilarious you said you couldn't keep your t-shirts for your collection because you kept wearing them until they are worn out. I confess I am guilty on some of my favorite t-shirts already worn out and couldn't be replaced. I make it my policy to buy two pairs sometime. Finally, your lens are great to read. I will take my time later to come back and read all of them. They are enjoybable. Thank you.
