Confessions of an overnight Hospital Operator

While visions of sugarplums danced in others heads, I was busy calling codes, dealing with the switchboard and pulling medical records during a 12 hour shift (with no lunch or breaks).

Every once in a while there would be a lul in the frenzy of activity that was my job at a hospital in Bronxville New York; and me being like a drunken sailor hitting the docks on payday, would peruse eBay in search of that perfect something that would make me momentarily happy.

You know, for all the fancy toys children can have, this is one that they always come back to. Had forgotten about it.

I always thought this was a cool toy. My favorite toy was my Mattel Vrroom that went on my bicycle and sounded like a motorcycle

I swear I liked this lens on my first visit, but just noticed it didn't show as such! So take that, you little like button! I found a spirograph type app (UberDoodle) for iPad, would you believe it?

A Spirograph kind of gives me the feeling of "Energy Flow" or how it would move if we could see it do so. I loved this toy growing up and this Lens brings back wonderful memories!

Spirograph was almost magical as a child, wasn't it? The shapes and colors were mesmerizing. One of my favorite childhood memories.

Oh gee. Now that you've mentioned the Spirograph, I can't think of anything else. I think it really was the beginning of my art exploration. I now paint (I have a site on here with my paintings) and I design jewelry. All hail the Spirograph! :)

Never had this "toy" and seems that I've miss a lot of fun! As it's Sunday, maybe it's the perfect moment to drop everything right now and unleash a bit of creativity, go playing! :))

@Camden1: You can find the old school ones on eBay, or sometimes spare parts; if it's just to use and have fun with the ones with the beat up boxes are cheaper (collectors go for pristine boxes). They also sell new ones at Toys R Us (not as cool as the old school ones though). Thanks for the visit and your participation on this Lens I appreciate it.

Steel Tonka trucks. They belonged to my brother, but they were by far the best toy any of us had and I played with them every chance I got.

@Zodiacimmortal: You should be ab;e to score that on eBay (especially now with the economy so bad); some people just sell parts, the category is Toys & Hobbies > Classic Toys > Spirograph. It's also a good idea to to an advanced search to see if anyone listed it under the wrong category (or misspelled something). Thanks for participating on my Lens.

@anonymous: It amazes me how children just don't seem to like the same things we did. I needed one cog to complete my Super Spirograph set, so I bought another smaller set on eBay. I gave that second one to my friend's daughter but I think her mother got more of a kick out of it than she did. Lol Go figure!? Thanks for stopping by Tipi ;-)

@Lee Hansen: Thank you for participating on my Spirograph Lens. I really enjoy your Coloring Pages, Clip Art and other Lenses. I also loved my Etch-A-Sketch; it's amazing how some people make artwork on them (and a living at it).

I loved my Spirograph (now I use my computer to make this type of cool design and I call then adult coloring pages) and also an Etch-A-Sketch. I still have 4 different Etch-A-Sketch toys, in 3 sizes. My grandkids like them ...
