Kids Toys

Updated on December 1, 2014

Welcome to my Kids Gift Guide!

Whoopie! There are so many times in their lives that kids look forward to because their toy box will be greatly replenished. Whether it is Christmas, birthdays or for good work there is always an excuse to seek out the best for your children. That's the purpose of this lens.

Parents are suckers when it comes to spoiling their children with toys and things that bring smiles to their faces and joy into their hearts. This lens is about where to find the best toys and other presents for them to wake up to on Christmas morning or to enjoy during the holiday season.

There are more than toys available, however, to make this time fun and to help them be inspired for the year ahead. Here are some great suggestions from Companies who pride themselves on quality and customer service. They warn against buying toys or other gifts from Asia where not only the quality is suspect but many are dangerous when being used. Take care in selecting what your children play with or keep in their room and make sure they are safe at all times. That way you will have a Very Happy New Year

Quality Gifts that Stand the Test of Time

Anyone can go into a store and buy a heap of junk toys for practically nothing and stuff them under a Christmas tree or give them as presents to kids who will play with them for a few minutes before they are discarded. But what if you gave them toys that will improve their lives, help them achieve, uphold their self-esteem, win them friends and generally better their lot.

It takes time to search such things out and rarely do you find them all in one place. But here you can because it has taken me years to find the best companies and to compare products so that you get only the best. What's more they are afforable and mostly the whoe family can enjoy them. So if money is tight rather than buy several cheap gifts why not buy one more expensive one and watch the family unite in play.

What's Your Preference When it Comes to Gifts?

Is it better to give one quality gift that the whole family can enjoy?

Yes, it bonds the family

And they can spend quality time together

My sister and brother-in-law came for their very first visit last summer. They had never met their nieces and nephew before and instead of them paying a couple of hundred dollars on individual gifts, they decided to get the family a wii with remotes for everyone. It has been the biggest hit and we all get an equal amount of enjoyment out of it. Depends on the family obviously, but for ours it worked great :)

yes I believe one quality gift. Will mean more then a lot of not such quality(meaningful) gift's.

My grandson will be 5 in June. He was riding a bike without training wheels when he was 3 years 11 months, so is advanced physically.

So I wonder if the tennis thing would make a good birthday present. Can you tell me?

And yes, quality matters and the whole family is fine.

No, I like to give lots of small individual gifts

I mostly like to give small, individual gifts that are customized according to the person's interest and needs.

Individual gifts and personalized according to their taste works out better for me.

      • Jhangora LM 6 years ago

It depends. I prefer gifting something an individual will treasure. However, if the budget allows - I'd like to add a family gift too.

No, it is about the children's Christmas!! Until kid are in their teens, they will not understand a family gift!!

This series of DVDs promotes learning through music, animation and kids having fun. Children can master their first words and learn to spell and read brand new words in rapid fashion

People who can play the piano are the life of a party. Give your child a future in music by encouraging them at a young age. My children learned music from the age of 4 and it costs heaps for weekly lessons, This great program does it all in a fraction of the time in a much more enjoyable and child friendly manner.

It is a great investment in a child giving them music and a great future with a choice of a profession or career in which they can make their mark.

Children are apprentices to what life has to teach them. They will go nowhere fast unless they have the skills to carry them through life with basic knowledge and the ability to learn. Schools give them this but so can parents. This program will start a child off or help one who is lagging behind.

Are Babies Aware of Special Celebrations?

With 3 children of my own and now 6 grandchildren there is always a big fuss made when young children are having a birthday. My youngest grandson recently turned one and I was perplexed about whether to actually get him a present or to wait until he was older and would appreciate it more. He seemed to enjoy his cake more than the gifts given to him. So I am asking the question of your thoughts on when a young child appreciates gifts.

Do you think a young child appreciates presents?

      Yes

      Yes

Everyone loves presents, why should babies be any different. They recognize something new they've never seen before just as much as a child who is older. They may not understand the significance of it all, but they notice the differences in special celebrations ei: Christmas tree's and presents... a big gathering of people for a special occasion. It's exciting for them, they just can't show or express it like we can.

I bet children loves gifts. I loved them as a kid and my friends kids just love them whenever I get something for them! :)

        • jvsper63 6 years ago

I think that would depend on the child. if they get present's all the time. I think most just expect it. Not meaning birthday's Christmas etc. Others who get present's when more deserved most likely will appreciate them more. But I think we all spoil our children. So that's kind of on us.

Well, he does, but he does have too much, I think

Personally, I don't believe a really small child - 2 or under really understands or appreciates them. But right around 2 or 3, I'll bet they do.

What do you consider a baby? that is a tough questions

Even though I don't have kids of my own, my husband's daughter has a little almost-2-year old. He does enjoy toys - I'm just not sure he "gets it" about the whole gift-giving thing. I like to just get him gifts and give them to him without the hoopla. It's always fun though, to see them play!

When I our children were little, I made toys for them. They were simple, yet intriguing.

Lots of neat toy suggestions and recommendations. Both of my children are grown, but I still enjoy buying them "toys" for Christmas :)

My favorite is the skateboard theme décor. It just like my bathroom beach décor which has gotten old and needs to be replaced. I really loved the skateboard wallpaper the best.
