Kingdoms of Amalur Mage Faction Quests

In Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, the hero can choose to join the mage faction for several reasons. The mage faction quests are interesting and add extra spice to the storyline for the hero, and can offer lots of interesting and exciting usable items for the hero. In addition, the mage faction quests allow the hero to level up enough to undertake quests and defeat high level monsters in the latter part of the main questline. Starting the mage faction quests can be very useful indeed. This will guide the hero in starting the mage faction quests, and will direct the hero in obtaining the neophyte and then the docent title in these quests.

Kingdoms of Amalur Starting the Mage Faction Quests

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the hero can start the mage faction quests by speaking to Docent Augra Tenet in the Gardens of Ysa. This NPC can be found in the Scholia Arcana in Ysa. Talking to him will start the Trial by Fire quest. Enter the Delving Hall (make this the main quest, and follow the golden circle on the map) and speak to Savant Aethan Engar, who asks the hero to enter the ritual circle to initiate the Trial of Fire quest. Within the trials, the hero will face some Faer Gorta sentinels. As the hero ventures deeper into the trials, he begins to face Tuatha warriors. Defeat them to reach the end of the trials, where the hero will discover a sorceress. Persuade the sorceress successfully to proceed to the next part of the mage faction quests. Report to Aethan Engar to receive the title of Neophyte and start the Ruins of Aodh quest.

Kingdoms of Amalur Ruins of Aodh Quest

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the hero is sent by Aethan Engar to the Ruins of Aodh. The hero will face Nuala Ignas. Defeat her and continue into the Unquiet Bride quest.

Kingdoms of Amalur the Unquiet Bride Quest

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the next part of the mage faction series of quests (the Unquiet Bride quest) lies in Mel Aglir, where the hero will meet with Patrick Morkan. Follow the yellow circle on the map and head upstairs in the inn to a locker. Unlock this to obtain a journal. Read the journal to discover the location of Tulan. Defeat the monsters in Tulan to find Lerkana Fel, locked in a cell. Learn the truth about the unquiet bride from Lerkana Fel, and then proceed to the next room to defeat the necromancer Patrick Morkan and his unquiet bride. Concentrate your attacks on Patrick Morkan. Once he is defeated, the unquiet bride will also be defeated. Head to the Scholia Arcana in Ranthir and accept the next quest.

Kingdoms of Amalur Shardfall

In Kingdoms of Amalur, the Shardfall quest sees the hero heading to Emaire to speak to Anker Edmure. Edmure requires the hero to retrieve a beating heart from a Paragorn Barghest. The Paragorn Barghest is easy to defeat, but he is surrounded by lots of giant rats. The finesse / sorcery warlock may want to use the finesse dagger moves to chain a series of attacks that will repeatedly hit the rats and Paragorn Barghest, without the hero being hit at all. Next, the hero heads to Shardfall to face a series of ice sprites. Ultimately, the hero will reach Cadoc Reen. Use various moves and spells to defeat Cadoc Reen.

By completing the above series of quests, the hero will obtain the title of Docent within the Scholia Arcana. Proceed to Skycrown to find Aethan Engar.
