Bright and Cheerful Ladybug Toys

Ladybugs are fascinating little creatures, and have great appeal for toddlers and preschoolers. They are cute, in a chubby sort of way, and they're are also very helpful in the garden. Ladybugs lay clusters of eggs on leaves infested with aphids. So, when they hatch, the ladybug larvae have plenty of tasty aphids to eat.

Ladybugs seem to us to be a cheerful sort of bug, probably because of their brightly colored polka dot wing covers. The colors warn potential predators that ladybugs are not pleasant to eat - they produce a bad tasting fluid when attacked.

I admit it, I love ladybugs and ladybug toys, so I hope you like the ones I have chosen for this for youngsters aged 2 to 4 years. One of my favorites is this super cool ladybug glove puppet.

Fun Ladybug Puppets

Puppets can encourage children to use make up little stories and use their imagination. This gorgeous Ladybug hand puppet has a clever 6 finger design, so it can be worn on either hand. Other puppets in the series include butterflies, bumblebee, and grasshopper, as well as frog, monkey squirrel and mouse.

Ladybugs can play dead

Did you know..? In a sticky situation, these sneaky little beetles pretend they are dead until the danger passes.

Ladybug Tent & Play Tunnel

This bright and colorful ladybug tent is spacious and durable. It can be used outdoors and indoors, if you have sufficient space. The tunnel can be attached to either the side or back window, but for children who prefer to enter the tent from the front, there is also a flap doorway. The roll-up Ladybug wings disguise mesh windows for "peek a boo" games and ventilation. This playset is great fun and will encourage creative play.

The tent comes with it's own carry bag and the tunnel folds flat for easy storage. The tent is: 43 inches high x 48 inches wide x 48 inches long. The tunnel is 48 inches long x 19 inches in diameter.
