Lego - The est toy

Updated on November 11, 2012

Lego bricks must be the best toy ever made

Children all ages and skills can enjoy to build what ever they like with these building blocks.

When my children were small, I bought Lego now and then when there was a sale or at flee markets. We had eventually a big box full of lego that we all appreciated so much. Look at the modul E-bay. There is lots of lego for a rather good price.

The name Lego comes from Danish leg godt, which means "play well"

Just a week ago, I was at a flea market and watched a lady buying a really big bag full of lego pieces for a fairly small sum! That is the way you can build up a box full of exciting building bricks for children and grandchildren and their friends!

Lego in my house

I have three children and Lego has been absolutely the best!

28 of January 2008 was the 50 years anniversary of Lego bricks!

Lego is a line of building toys manufactured by the Lego Group, a privately held company based in Denmark. There are other Lego pieces which can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct such objects as vehicles, buildings and even working robots.

The company name Lego was coined by Christiansen from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means "play well". The name could also be interpreted as "I put together" or "I assemble" in Latin, though this would be a somewhat forced application of the general sense "I collect; I gather; I learn"; the word is most used in the derived sense, "I read".

In our family we had a big box full of them. Now and then there was an upgrading avalable so we bought some. When we were at Legoland (scroll down for more info) we could buy some space ships and engines a little cheaper.

I can say that lego and the legofamily has kept my children more happy than anything else you can buy for money!

When the children were younger I gave them Lego Duplo. They are the same but larger for small hands. You can build high towers and crash them. You can build rings and squares and boxes. Lego duplo is for smaller ones.

The Legoland parks are marketed to young families, and although they have a number of roller coasters, they are not as numerous or as extreme as those in other parks, and there is a greater emphasis on rides suitable for young children.

You find them in Billund, Danmark, California, US, Germeny and UK Windsor.
