Legos Are Awesome!

Updated on July 5, 2014

Everybody loves Legos!

Lego Bricks are classic and awesome building toys. The Lego Company has existed for over 50 years and encompasses traditional bricks and elements along with over 20 themes. The bins and building sets also make great Christmas gifts. Legos are very good and durable toys and can provide hours of fun. You can build virtually anything out of Legos, with enough bricks and time. The themes are usually Lego's original ideas, but many partnerships have been created with companies like Disney, Lucasarts, The Lord of the Rings series, and Harry Potter. The sets made for such iconic things such as Indiana Jones represent a scene from the movie, including figures of your favorite characters to collect!

Tons of different bricks!

Something for everyone

Lego has over 250 different kinds of bricks and elements for ages 2 to 99. They have Duplos which are bigger Lego bricks for younger children from about two to five years old. (They're bigger so they aren't a choking hazard.) They also have what used to be called Lego System, which are building sets. Then there's the plain old Legos, which usually come in bins and are for all ages. Lego also has minifigures, which are little guys that come with most sets and bins. Lego make special shaped pieces too, such as windows, doors, and windshields. Often these bricks are packaged in a set that has a specific theme.

Get some bricks!

You can make so many different things with Lego bricks! Mix and match them, create to your heart's desire!

My little brother got this one for Christmas when he was 3. He LOVED it and still plays with these 3 years later.

Lego has all kinds of themes

Lego has more than 30 themes. The themes change every year, they add some, then take some away. The only theme that has lasted for over 20 years is Lego Star Wars. A lot of people like to collect Star Wars Lego guys. One of the newest themes is Prince of Persia, and the sets are scenes from the movie. Lego takes away themes, then, a while later, brings back something similar. Often, they use their most poplular themes in video games, such as Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones.

Star Wars themed sets

Star Wars remains a popular theme with Lego. They are always coming out with new sets.

Lego Board Games

You can never have too many Legos!

(Picture Circa 2008)

I have a TON of Legos in my basement and I'm still growing my collection. I have over 50 Lego sets, and a lot of them I got for Christmas. I also got a lot for my Birthday too. I love collecting them because you can do almost anything with them!

Open a box full of happiness - Er, a box full of Legos anyway!

Lego Bricks can be used to promote creativity in children, teens, and even adults. Smart people are usually the ones building amazing things with the bricks, because it takes a bit of thinking to calculate what the dimensions of the thing you want to build will be. You can make anything from a secret Clone Trooper base, to a complicated Rube Goldberg contraption with Lego Technic pieces. There's something for everyone, even girls enjoy Lego Bricks!

Lego Video Games

Lego makes games for the Wii, DS, Xbox, and PCs.

Lego minifigures are one of Lego's most loved assets! - Lots of people love collecting minifigures

I have over 300 Lego minifigures that include Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and many more! I used to love playing with the Lego guys and at my old homeschool co-op we had a trading ring, so if you traded a Lego guy away, you might end up with him again. Lots of people love collecting minifiguers and they can be used in creation to add a little humor or something. they are one my favorite things about Lego!

What do you think about Legos?
