Minecraft Facts that will blow your mind!

Updated on September 15, 2012

Minecraft Facts

Minecraft is a well known indie game breaking records across the board! I am an enthusiastic Minecrafter myself, and have come upon some really cool facts. Without further comment, I leave you some great minecraft facts! Enjoy!

Letsssss get started

1) Lava can spread up to 7 blocks away in the Nether opposed to 3 normally.

2) Lapis Lazuli is a Real Material and is used in jewelry

3) If you leave the seed input blank, it uses your computer clock time.

4) If a player is killed by an arrow from a dispenser in Multiplayer, it will say [Player Name] Was Killed by Herobrine.

5) The only mobs that do not drop anything are magma cubes, silverfish, villagers and wolves.

6) In real life a golden apple would weigh 154 tonnes or 340393 pounds. It would be like carrying a small blue whale.

7) It takes 4 Minutes 10 Seconds to break obsidian with your fist. (Whoa!)

8) You can find coal veins with 30 blocks of coal!

9) Even though cauldrons store water, jumping in one will not stop you from being on fire.

10) Creepers are based on a failed model of a pig. Crazy, hey?

11) Because of Minecraft, Notch is now a multi-millionaire!

12) It is possible to grow a tree above the height limit.

13) A sword will not be damaged while killing an ender dragon.

14) Pumpkins are more rare then diamond. Weird.

15) When holding f3, the nether is called Hell, and the End is called Sky.

16) If on soul sand, Zombies and Skeletons wont burn from the sun.

17) Jukeboxes can be used to fuel a furnace.

18) Mobs cannot spawn on half blocks. (I once tried to make an XP grinder using slabs) :(

19) It would take 3,000,000,000 blocks of TNT to destroy 1 block of bedrock.

20) At the current time, MoJang has sold 7 227 685 copies of Minecraft.

Hope you enjoyed

      4) Pumpkins are more rare then diamonds. Weird.

Since there was caves, find mineral blocks (Such iron ores) are slightly more easier. And pumpkins can be found in jungle biomes commonly. I could say this fact is not true.

      -----------------------------------------------

      19) It would take 3,000,000,000 blocks of TNT to destroy 1 block of bedrock.

If this fact is mean for PE too, then this is completely false. Using TNT Cannon mod in PE and less than 1,000 blocks of TNT could have destroy 1 or 2 Bedrock.

      ------------------------------------------------

      4) If a player is killed by an arrow from a dispenser in Multiplayer, it will say [Player Name] Was Killed by Herobrine.

Not sure if this just happen on me either, but I have tried it and the text isn't showing up (Both local multiplayer and server).

@anonymous: Yes, but the average apple in minecraft is 15 pixels X 12 pixels X 1 pixel. Since each block is 1 cubic meter in minecraft and 16 X 16 pixels, it would mean the apple is 93.7 centimeters, by 75 centimeters, by 6.25 centimeters, or 43921.875 cubic centimeters. If gold is as you say 19.3g per cubic centimeter, then the weight would be 43921.875 X 19.3, or 847692.1875 grams, or 847.6921875 kg. This would equate to 1868.841372927 lbs, not even 1 ton. The math was just a little off on the top stat, wouldn't you agree.

In real life a golden apple would weigh 154 tons or 340393 pounds. It would be like carrying a small blue whale.

      -----

      I don't believe it.....

Average volume of an apple : 104.5 cm^3

Density of pure gold (24 carat) : 19.30g^-3

      So 104.5 * 19.30 = 2016.85g

      = 2.01685 kg ie. roughly 4 pounds.

Cmon.....nowhere near a small blue whale.
